Furthermore, Danielle is a beacon of change, advocating for diversity and inclusion within the tabletop gaming community. GrandCon wants to welcome our friend Jeff Grubb as a special guest this year. Jeff Grubb is an author and game designer. He is the co-creator (with Ed Greenwood) of the Forgotten Realms setting and one of the co-founders of the Dragonlance setting. Jeff has written fifteen novels and thirty short stories set in such worlds as Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Starcraft, Warcraft, and Guild Wars. He has written and contributed to over a hundred games and game support products, including the Star Wars RPG, the Star Wars miniatures game for Wizards of the Coast, and Star Wars Attacktix for Hasbro. He is also the creator of the Whappamanga VoxBox, a handy device that allows Wookiees and Gamorreans to be understood in Basic. Jeff has many accolades and is credited for several works, including games like Diablo 2, Guild Wars, and The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom. He resides in Seattle with his wife, two cats, and family.

GrandCon is honored to host a true luminary in the world of board game design, John D Clair, as our esteemed guest in 2024. John, a resident of the vibrant city of Los Angeles, is a professional board game designer, dedicating his time and expertise to this field. His game designs span a wide range, from light-hearted and whimsical to thought-provoking and complex. He is widely acclaimed for his creations, such as Space Base Ready Set Bet, and his revolutionary invention, the Card Crafting System™, pivotal in many of his designs, including Mystic Vale and Dead Reckoning.

In his spare time, he obsessively designs and plays board games. When not gaming or working, he usually plays with or parents his four kids. Given a chance, he likes masquerading as an outdoorsman—hiking, biking, running, playing bad golf, and, once-up-a-time, pretty-decent baseball. Homeschooled as a youth, he likes to think he appears normal in public, and John somehow managed to marry a beautiful woman with whom he shares the fun and challenge of parenting the fantastic kiddos.

The Event Submission window has opened this month. If you are a GM who wants to get your event on this list for GrandCon 2024, now is a great time to submit your event.

Do you have a game you'd like to teach, an RPG session you'd like to run, or another fun game-related experience you'd like to hold? You can submit your events for the GrandCon schedule now!

Event submissions will close at the end of July for all GMs (Game Masters). If you have a certain number of hours of approved events to run, your badge can be fully compensated.

GrandCon is the best gaming convention in the region, and our team of volunteers makes that happen. Inside the overall community of GrandCon gamers is a community of volunteers that we love and respect for all their hard work and dedication. Behind each show, there is a multitude of tasks that would not be possible without them.

He has created many games we love, including Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game, Vault Wars, Dinosaur Island, Path of Light and Shadow, Wasteland Express Delivery Service, Kids on Bikes, and Apollo.

Currently, he has also joined the team at Maestro Media. His favorite games are Cosmic Encounter, Nations, and Hanabi. His least favorite game is "The What Game Should We Play" game. His favorite color is orange, so please let him have that as a player's color.
