Thanks to everyone who came out for the jigsaw puzzle competition last night. The competition was intense from the very beginning, with each team diving in, focused, working together.

In the end, PUZZLE TEAM finished first, just over the half-hour mark with an impressive time of 31:31. Way to go PUZZLE TEAM! 🏆

The second place team, PIECE D' RESISTANCE, finished a few minutes later with a time of 37:45.

Team THE EDGE finished third, with a time of 39:33.

And last but not least, team GETTING JIGGY WITH IT, while talking big and building a lot of hype pregame, finished in fourth place with a time of 40:15.

Well done everyone!

Join us tomorrow night, Tuesday, August 6, at 6:30 pm for our final Tuesday Nights on The Lawn community building gathering.

You have two activities to choose from!

1. Jigsaw Puzzle Competition.

Bring a team or join a team when you come. Each team (up to 8 people) will be working to complete the same 500-piece puzzle. The team that finishes in the least amount of time will be the winner! 🏆

2. Sidewalk Chalk Extravaganza

If puzzles are not your thing, then grab a container of sidewalk chalk and decorate a section (or 2 or 3) of the sidewalk. When the artwork is complete, everyone will get a chance to vote for their top 3 favorites. The top 3 vote getters will receive prizes.

Both these activities are open to everyone.

Bring a neighbor. Meet a neighbor.

Remember, if the weather isn't nice (the forecast includes rain), we will move indoors. Don't let the weather deter you from coming.

We hope to see you there!

We are home! Here is an update from yesterday!
On Thursday, after biking 188 miles safely over the previous 4 days, the Bike Trip group took a break from biking. In the morning, we joined an Arc of Justice tour led by 3 native Detroiters who shared with us about their experience in regards to racial injustices that affected Detroiters (and countless other communities across our country). We visited various sites around the city to learn more about the significance of what happened in each location. After the Arc of Justice tour, we visited Hesed Church and learned from Pastor Mark and Sydney about how they and others in the church are seeking to overcome the effects of past injustices and letting justice and reconciliation roll. We took time to help clean up and w**d their community garden as well. It was a full day spiritually and emotionally for our group as we learned about both the "pows" and "wows" regarding injustice and justice. On our way back from the tour, we stopped for some ice cream. Just in case you were wondering, you can't have a Bike Trip without ice cream. At the end of our day during dinner, we took time to reflect individually on our trip. Then, we each took a turn sharing our learnings and takeaways from the trip with each other. Next time you see someone who went on the trip, be sure to ask them about it!!! What a great group! What a great week! Let justice roll!

Start — The Bible Recap 12/30/2023

New Year = New Habits.
READ THE BIBLE IN 2024!

Back in October a small group began reading the New Testament together. We have added to our resolve and will start the Old Testament together on January 1. Will you join us??

We are following a chronological Bible reading plan called The Bible Recap and have a Facebook group for sharing and encouragement.

To be added to our group, comment here or contact Stacy Klaassen.

Start — The Bible Recap The Bible Recap is a short podcast/video (~8 minutes per day) and book (2 pages per day) by Tara-Leigh Cobble. She’ll highlight and summarize that day’s Bible reading in a casual, easy to understand way to not only help you read scripture but to love reading it!

Join us during this Advent and Christmas season as we wait for, celebrate, and worship the Christ child who came to save, heal, and redeem us from our sin.

O come let us adore Him!

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:16-17
