Last week we bid farewell to seeing Christena in the office every day as she transitions to working remotely. After 6 wonderful years with us in Garden City, her presence will be deeply missed. Here’s to new beginnings and continued success together, even from afar! 💙💛

Our patient came to us with bone loss and failing lower front teeth (see 2nd x-ray and picture). After careful planning, we collaborated with her dentist, who came to our office on the day of the surgery to place the prosthesis after surgery(3rd slide), so she could leave with teeth the same day!
For now, she’s using an upper denture, but stay tuned because she’ll be coming back soon to have implants placed in her upper jaw too! We’re excited to continue this journey with her and share her final results.

In this case, tooth #31 had drifted into the site of #30, which was likely removed a long time ago and never replaced. As a result, tooth #31 moved over into the empty space.

Our plan involved extracting tooth #31, placing a bone graft, and then setting two implants in that spot. Above you will see the initial X-ray, then mid surgery to confirm the location # and the final X-ray with the implants beautifully placed!

SURGICAL UPRIGHTING OF SECOND MOLAR. 🏗🦷
In some cases second molars need some assistance if they don’t erupt normally.
In this patients case it was necessary to remove the adjacent wisdom tooth to allow space for the uprighting and repositioning of the second molar. Dr. Panagos was able to easily perform the procedure with just local anesthesia and will have this patient return for observation over the next few months.
