Danielle Miller was born in Lancaster, South Carolina, and grew up in Indian Land, South Carolina. Danielle attended the University of South Carolina where she graduated magna cm laude with a B.A. in Public Health. After her undergraduate degree, Danielle pursued her childhood passion of becoming an attorney and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

During law school, Danielle participated in the Judicial Observation Experience Program and served as a student attorney for the Juvenile Justice Clinic. After graduating from law school, Danielle became a member of the South Carolina Bar. Upon being admitted to the South Carolina Bar, Danielle began her practice as a family law attorney in Columbia, South Carolina working on various family law cases in Richland and Kershaw Counties.

Danielle is based out of our Indian Land office, focusing her practice on family law cases in York and Lancaster Counties. She is, however, licensed to practice throughout the entire state of South Carolina.

Meet Me Monday 👋

Benjamin Hasty is a criminal defense lawyer with a background as a former prosecutor. He brings his experience from both sides of the courtroom to aggressively fight for and defend your rights.

Ben was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He moved to Greenville, South Carolina, in 1991. Since moving, Ben attended Greenville County public schools and finished Eastside High School. Ben enrolled at Clemson University and graduated with a double major in Political Science and Italian Language. Continuing his studies, Ben attended the University of South Carolina, School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate. Ben is a member of the South Carolina Bar.

He previously worked in the Sixteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office as an Assistant Solicitor, focusing his time on the prosecution of Drug-related charges and Driving Under the Influence offenses. Ben led the DUI Unit in York County for over two years, during which he prosecuted hundreds of DUI cases and instituted many of the systems the DUI Court and Solicitor’s Office use today. While in the Solicitor’s Office Drug Unit, Ben focused on prosecuting drug crimes ranging from Simple Possession of Ma*****na to the trafficking of illicit drugs and pills.

In 2018, Ben left the Solicitor’s Office to work as a criminal defense attorney. Ben applies the knowledge and experience he has earned to help clients and win results.

Vanessa A. Richardson is a Georgetown, SC native who earned an AS degree in Marketing and a BS in Criminal Justice, summa cm laude, from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She followed her true passion and earned a law degree, graduating cm laude from Capital University Law School, Columbus, Ohio.

After graduation, she worked as a Mitigating Specialist on death penalty cases for Horry County Public Defender’s Office, while simultaneously working on a jail misconduct cases for a prestigious Georgetown law firm.

Following leaving the public defender’s office, Ms. Richardson practiced in civil litigation, handling personal injury cases (product liability litigation, medical malpractice cases, and other wrongful death cases).

This experience led her to start her own family law practice handling all domestic relation/family law cases (divorce, child custody, child support, etc.). She relocated to Greenville in 2019 and, in 2022, brought her many years of family law practice to the David W, Martin Law Group covering the Upstate and Low Country. Vanessa is an attorney that handles family law at our Myrtle Beach office.

What a week at David W. Martin Law Group!

Our firm had the opportunity to read at various elementary schools in Fort Mill, as well as help conduct mock interviews for students at Catawba Ridge High School.

Our staff was also fortunate enough to sponsor the River Trail Elementary School PTO at their first annual golf tournament, where David’s team brought in 2nd place!

Followed by our first quarterly staff outing for the 2024 year at Craft Axe Throwing- Fort Mill (Downtown) where our team was able to team build!

6 years ago today, on my mom’s birthday, I decided to hang a shingle in my hometown of Fort Mill. Since then, we have been blessed to expand from one 90 sq. foot office to 8 offices across the state. I have been fortunate to grow and work with 20 of the best people that I could ever ask to grow my business with. We have been able to grow by focusing on processes, creating a family like culture within our team, and putting our clients first. From that, we were recognized as a recipient of the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America and already in 2024, we have far exceeded any month in the last 6 years. I cannot thank Saleana Pence, Daniel Evans, Ben Hasty, Nathan Cooper, Melanie Holliman, and the rest of our leadership team who have stuck beside me for the last few years enough. I also cannot thank all of our clients, friends, and peers in Fort Mill, York County, and throughout SC enough for their support. I’m very excited both personally and professionally for 2024 and for the next chapter at David W. Martin Law Group. I love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
