Hey! I’m Niki, the girl behind the camera 📸!
For anyone who is interested in how I got started in photography, story time:

My passion for photography is something that was always hiding right under my nose. Growing up I can remember taking pictures of my American girl dolls on our “family camera” (yea, remember those, before we all took pictures on our phones 😂) Around 10 years old I got a flip camera and created endless music videos to the “Hannah Montana 2 meet Miley Cyrus” album. When my teenage years came I got a go pro and made travel videos on my families annual beach trip. I always knew I loved creating things but I never thought of pursuing photography. Until… I found myself working a typical 9-5 desk job. Sitting in my same cubical every day, repeating the same tasks, waking up tired and coming home exhausted. During that time my sister was needing some photos for her yoga website (shout out Alli!) I started taking some photos of her on a camera that I received as a Christmas present (shout out Logan, the best fiancé ever!) after that, I started taking photos of my friends and photography became a hobby. It became a way to escape my regular day-to-day, a way to express myself and be creative.
I became so mentally drained from my desk job that I was put on medical leave for two weeks by my doctor. During that 2 week period something clicked for me and I decided to pursue photography as a career rather than a hobby. I spent the next several months researching, practicing, creating a website, socials, etc. and finally I decided to take a leap of faith and launch Niki Reid Photography.
Because of that, my life has been changed in the best way possible. Getting to meet incredible people, and capture their most special moments is something I will always be grateful for. 🩶

Ruby + Daniel 🩵 I had the best time with these two for their engagement session, I can’t wait to capture their wedding in April!

I have to let you guys in on a little secret.. this was not our original plan for Hannah & Francisco’s engagement session! Buttt when your clients drive in from Columbia in the pouring rain, you make it work! We opted for the to shoot indoors instead of our original outside session. And let me just say, I am OBSESSED with the moody atmosphere of that place and love the vibe that it gave these pictures!
