Cherrydale Elementary School

Today was our house party kick off! We had a wonderful time discussing what it means to be a good friend, team building, and structuring the foundation of building our house families for the 24-25 school year. We introduced two houses, Protos (teal) and Onraka (orange). So far we have celebrated over 85 Trailblazer awards! We are excited for what this year brings. We have the privilege of having the Batson Architecture group join us for our k-2 house party this morning. We are thankful for their continued support of our House System.

This is a picture of community. A classmate sees and remembers the feeling of learning a second language. He has committed himself to helping his classmate learn English and learn to read. Today he said, “I want to be part of the reason he learns English and learns to read. Today he read a whole page to me and told me about it.” This is Cherrydale, even our students are bought in to making a difference.

A wonderful start to our morning as we have collaboration, teamwork, small group, and instructional supports in place to build student success! It’s a great day to be a Cherrydale Panther!

Our students are earning Trailblazer awards for going above and beyond. We love celebrating student success!

Day 3 brought a lot of wonderful highlights as second grade dove into academic discourse, fourth grade had their first morning grade level planning, and our support staff step into classrooms to provide time for planning. We are all in to Cherrydale hiking to new heights!

We are off to a wonderful start at Cherrydale! We are in full swing and we are looking forward to the next 178 days of greatness!!!

We had a fantastic day 1 at Cherrydale! All students were engaged, excited, working to be successful! Great things are going to happen this year as we Hike to New Heights!

We welcomed k4 and k5 and new families to the building this morning for a calmer opportunity to view the building and meet the teacher. We are so excited to welcome the new families to our Cherrydale Community!

It was absolutely wonderful seeing the smiling faces and welcoming students back to Cherrydale this evening! We are looking forward to Tuesday!

It was an honor and privilege to celebrate Anna Daulton our 24-25 Teacher of the Year at the Teacher of the Year Breakfast for Greenville County Schools this morning. She is a powerful leader and a strong ear for our students. We are blessed to have her at Cherrydale!

Beginning our year with a few teachers in LETRS training. Such a great training. The majority of our staff had the privilege of this training over the past two years to better support our students in reading.

This morning we were able to welcome teachers back to our building! We worked through our mission and vision to refine all the great work our Cherrydale community contributes each day!

Cherrydale Mission and Vision

Cherrydale empowers students through meaningful instruction and relationships to become productive lifelong learners.

Cherrydale Elementary will host Meet the Teacher on Tuesday, August 6 from 4:30-6:00.

There will be a New to Cherrydale Meet the Teacher for all new enrollees and students joining us in grades k4 and k5 on Wednesday, August 7 from 9:00-10:00.

Students do not need to attend both Meet the Teacher and New to Cherrydale Meet the Teacher. This time is set aside to allow for more space to see the building and find classrooms for new students.

At Meet the Teacher we will offer a doughnut truck, opportunity to purchase a new Cherrydale shirt, a chance to speak with our Transportation office, communities engagement opportunities, and much more.

Please bring your supplies and your backpack to Meet the Teacher so we can make our first few days as smooth as possible.

We are excited for our new year!

Parents, please be sure to look at our school webpage for the school supply list. There are apps that have prepopulated a list that is not 100% accurate.

Please use these lists and bring supplies and book bags to open house on August 6 at 4:30.

We will help organize supplies for you and your students, distribute transportation tags, have opportunities to talk to transportation, purchase doughnuts, purchase a Cherrydale shirt, and distribute field trip information at Meet the Teacher.

We will have a new student orientation for all new k4 and k5 students as well as new enrollees to Cherrydale on August 7. This orientation will take place of Meet the Teacher for these students. There is no need to attend both events.

We are excited for a new school year and desire to work to guarantee a smooth and safe first few days of school. Please share this information with families and friends and have them to follow our webpage and facebooks page for updates.

Cherrydale Elementary School

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Quakenbush to Cherrydale. She will serve part time at Cherrydale and part time at Monaview as a school counselor.

Cherrydale is excited to welcome Ms. Looper to the computer lab for the 24-25 school year. Ms. Looper is joining us from Chandler Creek Elementary.

Our 2024-2025 school year is right around the corner. We are happy to welcome Allison Lindsey to our Cherrydale family. She will serve as our Media Specialist.

Congratulations to our 4th 9 weeks Terrific Kids!

Tonight we had the privilege of partnering with Public Education Partners and the Bank of Travelers Rest to provide our students with books for their home libraries, a read aloud, and a free meal for the family. We love partnering with our community to support our families. Cherrydale was also the recipient of the Susan Shin reading award in recognition of the summer reading program and our partnership with PEP.

There was so much to celebrate at Cherrydale today. We had our final house party and we were able to celebrate over 750 Trailblazer awards this year. In all, our students received nearly twice as many positive referrals this year compared to negative infractions! We are so proud of the student’s growth and success!!! We also discussed goals for need year and what it means to make a plan.

The fourth grade team surprised administration with new shirts this week. Cherrydale is blessed with the best, Mrs. Johnson and Dr. McClure are “nacho average administrators”. These two love hard, work hard, and fully invest in our school community. Cherrydale is blessed with the best!

Our administration had the privilege of firing up the grill today to serve our amazing staff! We are thankful for what they do each and every day to support our students. Thank you to Dukes of Greenville for sponsoring our staff and providing each staff member with family size condiments to take home and share with their families.

Our staff is not “sub” par they are the best of the best! Happy Teacher Appreciation to our team!

Cherrydale is blessed with a front office staff that loves all students, loves all parents, and invests in our school each day. Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Garcia, Mrs. Cruz, Mrs. Rivera, Ms. Hunter, and Ms. Morgan are always all hands on deck and do whatever it takes to make our school function with ease! We are so thankful to have each of these ladies apart of the Cherrydale family.

It has been a wonderful few days at Cherrydale! Two days of field day, Daddy Daughter Dance, and Roper Mountain for field day. Living out relationship, fun, and engagement!

With today being an e learning day, ILT provided a waffle bar for our incredible staff. A small token of our appreciation for our Cherrydale family.

So proud of these students who graduated speech and were named Terrific kid for third nine weeks!

Cherrydale welcomed our fifth grade parents today for a breakfast and learn. It was a great learning experience for our students and parents!
