The Furman University Child Development Center is a licensed preschool and kindergarten serving 3-6 year olds in Northern Greenville County.
It opened in the fall of 1974. The program moved into a new building, adjacent to Furman, in August of 2010. Preschool and Kindergarten Program

For the last month, we studied Stone Soup as our fable, learning that sharing is always a good idea. This week, the children shared an ingredient and all together (along with three stones) they made a wonderful Stone Soup. Today we got to eat it! Yum, yum, yum!!
Tonight was our Spring Parent/Teacher Book Club meeting to discuss the book Unselfie by Michele Borba, Ed.D. Great food, fun conversation, and thoughtful discussion. If you are a CDC parent, plan to join us next time!
The CDC teachers did some Growth and Development training today! It is always good to take time for our own learning and reflection.
March in the Outdoor Classroom.
Yesterday, the Birds participated in the Great Backyard Bird Count. They were prepared with their birdwatching tools and knowledge of the many birds that visit our feeders daily. It was a great experience.
January 29th was National Puzzle Day! The Birds explored puzzles of all types and took the opportunity to make some bird puzzles.
Our fable for the last couple of weeks has been The Dog and His Reflection. We are exploring symmetry and mirror images as part of our investigation.
