"One of USC Upstate’s strengths as a regional comprehensive university is that it welcomes people from all backgrounds, particularly those who are from first-generation/working-class homes, [Colby] King says. “There are so many of us, and it’s such a part of the institutional culture, that it’s normalized,” he says. “You don’t have to be quiet about it.”

Helpful info about Hypertension from a current Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at USC Upstate Greenville.
A student in our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program shared research about hypertension with her peers, and the info is too important not to share. The American Heart Association reports that causes for hypertension (also referred to as high blood pressure) can come from a number of sources, like stress, increased salt intake, family genetics, unhealthy dietary habits, physical inactivity, and smoking. While the number of suffers is great, the good news is that hypertension is the most modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Check out livetothebeat.org for tips and resources.
Are you a nurse with a passion for public health? Maybe our DNP program is for you! https://www.uscupstate.edu/dnp/
