๐ Fourth of July Safety Tips ๐
As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, let's ensure we keep safety in mind! Here are some tips to guarantee a fun and safe Fourth of July:
Fireworks Safety: If you're planning to use fireworks, please remember these laws. Fireworks within city limits are limited to 10 a.m. on July 4th to 12:30 a.m. on July 5th.
Pet Safety: Keep your pets indoors during fireworks displays, as loud noises can frighten them. Ensure they have a safe and quiet place to retreat.
Designated Driver: If your celebrations include alcohol, plan for a designated driver, or use a ride-sharing service. Never drink and drive.
Let's all do our part to make this Fourth of July a safe and enjoyable celebration ๐บ๐ธ

Congratulations to Officer Hill for being named Officer of the Month for June!
In three consecutive shifts, Officer Hill was able to catch subjects who had either freshly committed property crimes or within the last twelve hours. Officer Hillโs apprehension cleared an attempted burglary case, several auto tampering cases, well over a dozen autobreaking cases in the City of Greenville, and other property crime cases in Greenville County and at least one in Travelers Rest.
In June, Officer Hill responded to a business on Mills Avenue in reference to an alarm activation. Upon arrival, Officer Hill located an individual outside the store wearing all black and a backpack. He stopped the individual and began to question him. During questioning, the suspect started to sweat profusely and showed Officer Hill that he had gloves on him and minor cuts on his hands. The owner arrived, and surveillance footage was reviewed. The footage confirmed Officer Hillโs suspicion and showed that the subject attempted to burglarize the store by throwing a rock into the glass and kicking it but was scared off when the alarm activated.
In June, Officer Hill responded to an apartment complex in reference to several subjects who were seen by a resident pulling on the door handles of vehicles. Two of the three were located, but there was still one outstanding subject. Officer Hill located the subject down the road after noticing the individual attempting to run away from the scene. He was able to confirm that the subject was one involved in the auto tampering. The two adult subjects were arrested, and the subject Officer Hill found was a juvenile who was also charged.
In June, officers responded to the intersection of Church Street and Pearl Avenue after a traffic collision. Witnesses stated that two subjects ran from the vehicle. It was soon discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen and used in recent autobreakings. Officer Hill was patrolling the area and looking for any individuals who matched the description. He noticed an individual who matched the description trying to enter a vehicle on University Ridge. Contact was made with the vehicle, and the subject quickly surrendered. A search warrant was conducted on the residence where one of the suspects is known to reside, and five fi****ms were recovered - one an AR-15 and the other handguns. One was confirmed stolen out of Greenville County. ๐
๐จ๐ Safety Alert! ๐๐จ
Attention Greenville community! ๐ฃ
We want to inform you about a recent increase in autobreakings targeting vehicles in our area. Criminals are specifically searching for fi****ms and cash.
While arrests have been made thanks to the hard work of our dedicated officers and investigators, we need your continued vigilance and support to combat this issue. ๐ฎโโ๏ธ
We greatly appreciate everyone who has taken steps to secure their fi****ms inside their homes and remove valuables, especially money, from their vehicles. ๐
Remember, you play a crucial role in keeping our community safe. If you notice any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please don't hesitate to contact the Greenville Police Department. Dial our non-emergency number at 864-271-5333 or, in case of an emergency, call 911 immediately. ๐
Together, we can make a difference and ensure the safety of our community. Let's stay vigilant and look out for one another! ๐ช
