I am so excited for my brother!

Behold, I will do a new thing declares the Lord. The expectation that God will do a new thing is paramount for those who put all of their hope and trust in him. Oftentimes, we toil and in vain we put the cart before the horse and we end up at a stand still. We often believe that our efforts alone will yield results and sadly what happens is that we make mistakes that cost us greatly.

To be transparent for a moment. In the past, I sought to open my own bakery and while I believed it was time, God said wait but I wanted to go ahead. And guess what I struggled to bring my dreams to fruition and in defeat, I withdrew my efforts and FEAR began to take hold. This effort cost me dearly. What I came to realize is that there were things that I needed to improve and to correct in order for God to do a new thing. I had to become more disciplined with my resources and truly become a good steward of what he has afforded me. Years after this setback, I longed to move forward and I did but FEAR kept showing its ugly head. And we all know what FEAR is right, F-alse E-vidence A-ppearing R-eal. The late great Daryl Coley was correct in one of his songs and it stated, fear is designed to stop you in your tracks, it keeps you from moving forward. But it goes on to say that God has not given us a spirit of fear and in these last few years, I learned to trust God and trust the process.

Like many who are called to entrepreneurship, I’ve cried, I got frustrated and even angry, but I kept going because it was promised me and it was revealed to me just a clear as day. I often talk to God and I would call his promise to remembrance. And I had to stand boldly on Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you… declares the lord. I had to come to the realization that God knows best and if I’m going to move forward I had to die to self and this became my daily prayer, “Lord diminish me that you will increase.” I needed to put God where he belonged which was first at the head of my life.

And finally, I had to affirm who God truly is and what he’s able to do and Jeremiah 32:27 declares, “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything to hard for me.” This alone allowed me to know that in the natural things can be impossible but in God all things are possible Matthew 19:26. God gives you the vision aka, “the seed”, he gives you the ground to plant it, “your heart” he waters it with “the word” and while the seed matures “your discipline, efforts, and work” he conditions you and then in “Time” the seed springs forth and you get to see the Good work that God is doing in your like.

I say all of this to say this, keep going. No matter the stumbling blocks, get up and
KEEP GOING, no matter the tears, KEEP GOING, no matter the heartache, KEEP GOING, no matter what forces come against you KEEP GOING and stand still and witness the Salvation of the almighty God. No one can tell me different. I’m not perfect, but thank God for his grace, mercy and loving kindness. I believe EVEN GREATER IS COMING. Be encouraged
