The My Brest Friend pillow is one of our favorite tools here at the Breastfeeding Center!
We keep one in each of our rooms to help moms with positioning and latching. Moms rave about how much easier this pillow can make breastfeeding and love the support it provides for their back. We often hear moms call the My Brest Friend a "lifesaver." We think it tops the list of essential items to invest in when planning for your baby.
Our Greenville and Spartanburg locations have My Brest Friends available for purchase. Stop by and get yours today!

Lowering stress is important to supporting a healthy milk supply. Here are some self-care tips to help you relax and nourish your body:
1. Practice Breathing Exercises: Take a few minutes daily to focus on deep, calming breaths. Inhale slowly through your nose, hold for a few seconds, and exhale gently through your mouth.
2. Take Breaks: Make time for short breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge. Even a few minutes of quiet time can make a big difference.
3. Stay Hydrated and Eat Well: Drinking plenty of water and eating nutritious meals helps keep your body fueled and your milk supply strong.
Remember, caring for yourself is just as important as caring for your little one.
Is your older baby refusing to nurse, but you are nowhere close to being ready to wean? It could be a nursing strike! Nursing strikes can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
🍼 Infant illness or teething
🍼 Disruptions to baby's routine or environment
🍼 Hormonal changes in mom
While nursing strikes can be tricky, try not to panic. Nursing strikes typically only last a few days but could last longer. While you're working to get baby back to breastfeeding, mom may need to pump temporarily to maintain her supply.
If you think your baby may be experiencing a nursing strike, contact our lactation team at 864-516-2800 for tips and tricks on getting back on track!
Did you know that nutrition and hydration support breastfeeding? Even though breastfeeding can be a full-time job, make sure you’re taking time to have nutritious snacks and meals and staying hydrated. Protein-rich foods can especially assist in healing after having a baby. We also recommend staying on a prenatal or postnatal vitamin while breastfeeding.

1. Use Proper Containers: Opt for clean, BPA-free plastic or glass containers with tight-fitting lids or specialized breast milk storage bags.
2. Label and Date: Always label each container with the date and time the milk was expressed to keep track and use the oldest first.
3. Follow Safe Storage Times: Reach out to the Breastfeeding Center at Parkside at (864) 516-2800 for specifics on how long you can safely store your breast milk.
