When that golden hour light hits just right, it’s magical! Sunset is easily my favorite time for portrait sessions. I’m so thankful for longer days as spring approaches and I’m looking forward to some sunny evenings for photographing sweethearts in that incredible glow.

I just had to share some favorites from their beautiful wedding day . They had such a special and intimate ceremony and reception with their nearest and dearest on a sunny, breezy spring day. Most photographers agree that we love it when a bride is just as in love with veil photos as we are. Heather wanted ALL the veil photos and we had the best weather for them! It’s no coincidence that half of the photos I’m sharing in this post are veil shots! I’d love to know which veil shot is your favorite.

When it comes to venues, it doesn’t get much prettier than a stone chapel on the shore of a lake in a peaceful little mountain town. ​​​​​​​​

I love a floral arbor at a wedding ceremony! Megan & Levi’s circle arbor for their fall ceremony was so beautiful and was built with love by members of their family. How sweet! I’ve seen so many beautiful and creative arbor ideas at weddings I’ve photographed through the years! Bonus points if your florist is a rockstar and designs your arbor to easily be repurposed in your reception decor. Those beautiful flowers deserve all the purpose you can give them! ​​​​​​​​

What are some of your favorite wedding floral trends?

I’m so ready for another trip to the coast! Some steady sunshine after all the rain we’ve been having lately would be heavenly! ​​​​​​​​

Have you been dreaming of a quintessential southern portrait session in Charleston or at the beach? I’m 💯 on board to make that dream come true! Give me all the Spanish moss swaying in the breeze and that lovely light filtering through. Give me cobblestone streets and hundred-year-old oak trees. I’ll definitely have to plan a trip to the coast this spring. ​​​​​​​​

Timeless elegance is my goal for every photograph and bridal portraits are no exception. Bridals will always be one of my favorite sessions to photograph! I love capturing that joyful anticipation a bride is feeling before her wedding day. It’s often the first time the bride sees herself totally dolled up and in her gown before her wedding and, let me tell you, it can be emotional! It’s so fun to capture that excitement! If you’ve been on the fence about a bridal session, I say “go for it!” You’ll never regret it and you’ll always treasure the portraits you have of this special time in your life! ​​​​​​​​

You would never guess from this photo that it was 30 degrees and there was snow on the ground the day of Heather and Josh’s engagement session. These two embraced the cold weather and snuggled up tight for their engagement session at the beautiful Biltmore. And the result…adorable photos like this one!

I’ve been reflecting on 2022 so much lately. I’m just so grateful for the blessings the Lord has given and the ways he’s provided for me in the past year. I’m blown away at how my business has grown and I’ve learned so much. I’m thankful for the amazing people I had the opportunity to serve through this incredible job and I can’t wait to serve even more in 2023! Photography is so much more than just a job to me, it’s a passion. What a dream come true to have this business! It’s a prayer God answered in ways so much bigger than I could have imagined! Someone recently asked me this question and it got me thinking. Gosh, there are just so many things to love about this amazing job. How do I pick just one? For me, it’s the relationships I have the opportunity to build with the couples I serve. I get to come alongside each couple during some of the most joyful moments of their lives in the season of engagement and on their wedding day. I love that I get to capture the moments they will cherish in their memories for the rest of their lives in photograph form. We are officially a week away from these two tying the knot! Getting to know Joyce and Caio has been so much fun and I feel incredibly blessed to capture so much of this season in their lives. From their engagement session to Joyce’s bridals and, next up, their beautiful wedding day ! I’m just so thankful for all of the wonderful people God has allowed me to serve through my passion this year!

From the first moment I saw Callie & James together at their engagement session, I could tell they shared something so special. I loved capturing the tender moments of their sweet ceremony as they celebrated with family and friends this past weekend. Their wedding day was classic and elegant and so, so beautiful in every way! Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Aiken!

How gorgeous is my sweet sister-in-law? We had the best time wandering around to capture Natalie’s bridal portraits. Natalie spent some time studying abroad in France while she was in college and loved that the grounds at Green Valley reminded her of some of her favorite scenery from her time abroad. So, of course we were in love with all of the European vibes and made it a goal to capture that essence in her portraits.
