Scott Henderson, this anthology showcases the voices of 16 individuals tied to Furman University, celebrating the strength and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community through poetry, visual art, fiction, and essays.

In this event, you’ll hear from Scott and a panel of the book's contributors as they share their personal stories and creative works, followed by a Q&A session. This is a unique opportunity to connect, celebrate diversity, and explore the powerful bonds within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Alumni Journey Trip to Italy: Furman friends and alumni retraced the Italian campaign of World War II from Sicily to Rome through southern Italy. They explored the Allied advance, visited the Valley of the Temples, Vesuvius, Pompeii, and Herculaneum, a battlefield tour of Monte Cassino, Anzio and toured sites of ancient Rome. LTC William Price (a former member of the Department of Military Science) and his wife, Dr. Sarah Worth (Professor of Philosophy and Foodie extraordinaire) were the guides on this fun and delicious tour of Italian history.

Long-time friends banded together to create a fund that allows the Johnny Flynn ’69 Paladin Pitch Award to offer a grand prize of $10,000 to the winning business venture. The fund honors both Flynn’s entrepreneurial spirit and his passion for investing in young minds.

“It was important to Johnny and to me that we never failed to give every year, and this fund represents how connected the Furman family is,” his wife, Phyllis, said. “I want students to know that there are so many alumni out there who want to help.”
