Each year, we find ourselves without our usual meeting space for a couple of Sundays, but that just gives us the perfect excuse to enjoy the beauty of our city! Join us for one of our favorite Sundays of the year at the ‘Origins Family Picnic.’ Bring your favorite picnic dish to share, and if you’ve got a fun yard game, bring that too! It’s a day to relax, connect, and soak up the sunshine. We can’t wait to see you there!

Our Discipleships Groups consist of small intimate groups of 2-3 people dedicated to learning together through reading scripture, praying together and accountability. Last Sunday, we prayed over our Lead Pastor, Matthew Elrod and his family as we sent them off on a 3-month sabbatical. As we eagerly await their return, let’s continue to pray blessings over them and express our gratitude to God for the leadership, faithful service and loving friendships from such a wonderful family!

When our mission team went to Guatemala in April, they had the opportunity to visit and pray for Mrs. Martha. She had a stroke 6 months previously and has been bedridden since. Origins has the opportunity to provide 2 wheelchairs for the community. They will be kept at the Health Center and used as needed, one going directly to Ms. Martha. The cost is $585 for both. It was announced this past Sunday that beginning July 15, Pastor Matthew will take a 3 month sabbatical.  After 7 years of full-time pastoring, this will allow time for rest - spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.  We love the Elrods and want this for their family.  It was discussed amongst church leadership but was also championed by members of our church body, which is incredible.  This is a good thing and all signs of a healthy church!  The Elrods are taking a vacation during this time to get away and have family time.  Please pray for them by name daily - Matthew, Abi, Caleb, and Liza.

They may worship with us on Sundays a few times during Sabbatical, but it's ok if you hear that they are attending another church.  There are other pastors in town whom Matthew is friends with, respects, and can sit under for rest and renewal.  It is ok to still be friends with them during this time (please do!), but they aren't taking on church responsibilities.  No meetings, discipleship, etc.  Origins Elders will take on more one-on-one meetings and discipleship.  Zack and Andrew will be preaching the majority of Sundays.  Origins' church planter, JD Mangrum, will preach one Sunday, as well as others.  Other duties are being divided as well.

But we will need your help!  The urgent need is for help with the trailer every Sunday. Please message us if you are skilled in backing up a trailer and have a vehicle with towing capabilities.  We will also need more help with setup and teardown.
