We started the book of James in our Bible Reading Plan today!

You may not know or might have forgotten, but we taught a series in James in 2022. From that series, we also developed a 20-day devotional, which aligns with all of the teachings.

Terrible, we know. But, we couldn’t resist a good dad joke today! Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there! Our prayer is that you would wake up every day knowing that the love of our Heavenly Father is constant and never-ending.

Jesus tells his disciples (Matthew 24) that they will see and hear about wars at home and abroad, famine, and earthquakes. He goes on to say that there will be persecution, false prophets will arise from within the church, and people won’t know right from wrong. This is just as true for us today as it was for the disciples back then, and Jesus knew it would be.

How are we supposed to approach each day with this in mind? Here are three ways to live in a world full of tribulation.

Today, we stop to remember and celebrate that our freedoms exist because of the great sacrifice of others.

Read that once more.

We have freedom today because others sacrificed for it. So many gave their lives in service to this country to build what we benefit from today — a free country for times to gather and worship to proclaim that Jesus’ sacrifice buys us ultimate freedom.

Remember today with grateful hearts.

David's life teaches us that you can mess up to the point where it looks like you can never recover. But, if you come to God humbly confessing your sin, repenting of your sin, you will find His grace more than sufficient to pick you up and wash you clean so you can begin again.

Being a part of our community of grace is more than just showing up for Sunday services. It’s about living in authentic community with others, and community groups help us live out the Church of Scripture daily.
