Teen Idol

Please pray for Teen Idol producer Dennis Gleason - he has surgery number 2 in a couple of hours - last week's surgery had complications resulting in flatlining on the operating table for a few seconds - with extra pre-cautions this time, we are hoping the neck surgery is successful and incident free.

For those that may be worried about me after my heart stopped during neck surgery on Tuesday, I am ok, resting at home - kinda scared to go to surgery on the 10th to finish what they started on the 3rd, but must be done. Prayers and texts/messages are welcome - may be hard to take many phone calls right now, but thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for all the talented students that came out and performed at the state fair either as part of our mixed show case or individually (Rainezra, Snekha, Natalie, James, Lil Baby Milla & JoJo Scott). In addition, the member of RiverCity Rock Star Academy "RiverCity Royals" - Preston and Vietnam Vet Larry Littrell who held the flag for our performances of the National Anthem, Kent managing the stage and Brittany & Joe from talent management at the fair that booked us to perform. Thank you as well to the dozens of former finalists that took the time to message or text us and let us know that they are still interested in performing, even if these dates were not able to work for them. Teen Idol is looking for performers for the Oregon State Fair in Salem - Wed, Aug 28th from 11 – 12 pm (10 am call time) and Fri Aug 30th from 1:30 - 2:30 pm (Noon call time). Parking is only $5 (cash only) and reimbursable upon request.

To sign up to perform one or more songs in English or Spanish or 5+ minute standup comedy routine on 8/28 & 8/30, send Dennis a private Facebook message with the date and number of songs you can sing or number of minutes of your routine - former Teen Idol Finalists only.

There is also two time slots available as of this posting for a Teen Idol performer that can do an entire hour set on their own - Tue 8/27 at 12:30 pm & Thu 8/29 at 1:30 pm. You would have to perform a minimum of 45 minutes with an hour preferred. They’re on a first come first serve basis that the fair is trying to fill with other artists so jump on it if you want one of them - message Dennis the date you can fill on your own as a Teen Idol headline showcase. A state fair sound person will help setup but no Teen Idol support will be on site.

Thank you finalists that have helped make the state fair performances great. We have one more date, tomorrow, Saturday August 31st and we need additional performers. The call time is 9:30 am at the State Fair in Salem for a 10:30-11:15 am performance. Please message Dennis Gleason directly if you are interested in helping volunteer or perform. Thank you.

Teen Idol LIVE performance at 111th Square in NE Portland for the Summer Safety Event put on but the Gateway Area Business Association. Event headed up by Fred Sanchez - Realty Brokers - Tenants of the square.

Great job to everyone who performed at The Marion County Fair Talent Competition! So many talented people competing for a chance to perform in the Oregon State Fair round where the best of the best will go head to head. Hello Teen Idol Finalists and Performers - We have a last minute replacement need for a performer in Keizer (just north of Salem) tonight - Former finalists or former Teen Idol performers perferred, will consider any seasoned performer that wants the opportunity. 5 pm call time for a 6 pm performance - Requires only to sing the National Anthem and peform 2 songs and pays $50 for this event being last minute. Message Dennis asap if you can commit to perform.

Teen Idol is performing and operating the Marion County Fair Talent competition again this year. See Events for more info - it is next Weekend.

Season 12 competition phase has been postponed. Medical issues with the producer, family emergency with the director and general funding shortfalls makes it impossible to give this year’s students the full experience that Teen Idol Finalists deserve.

The summer tour will continue as an extension of Season 11 with former year students, giving some the chance to complete their contracts by performing, participating in street/land clean ups and possible outings. Policy changes this year prevent participation on television shows, events, activities and rewards until finalists complete their contracts.

All students who made it through this year, will automatically go through to the first elimination round next year. Seniors who made it thru, can compete next year as an exception as long as they're not 20 as of June finale date that's TBD. The small audition fee will be refunded.

If you would like to help make Season 12 now in 2019 the best season ever, we're looking for eager volunteers willing to assist with preparations. Thank you.

As we have had a few ask, yes, the auditions have been postponed due to a scheduling conflict and will be added back on when a rescheduled date can be determined. If you are going to a school where the choir or theatre is interested in holding an audition, feel free to message us through facebook messenger.

Teen Idol Auditions for March 20th at Lane Middle School has been moved tentatively to April 5th. That gives you another couple of weeks and spring break to practice. With a good number of students from all the Portland area and Vancouver, this is shaping up to be a great year. Want an Audition at your school? Message us!
