Safety Town 2023 will be held June 8 - 16, 2023. Your child may attend in the morning (8:30 - 11:30) OR in the afternoon (12:15 - 3:15). Registration will open on April 1 at www.gcsafetytown.org. Location is To Be Determined. More information to come, stay tuned! Safety Town is for kids living in Grove City, Jackson Township or Urbancrest, who are entering kindergarten in fall of 2023!

Welcome to Safety Town 2022! Registration is now open and runs through May 29, 2022. The format this year will be more in line with pre-Covid operation, offering 4 days of instruction and Friday being graduation. We are pleased to welcome children who will be attending or are eligible to attend Kindergarten starting in the fall of 2022.

This year, the dates for Safety Town will be June 20th to June 24th.

Safety Town is a program designed to introduce children who are getting ready to start school to a wide range of safety topics. Some topics covered will be fire safety, stranger danger, animal safety, water safety and an introduction to the world of school busses. Our classrooms are staffed by professional teachers who will reinforce the lessons of the day by the guest speakers. We also offer a music class that is always a hit with the kids. There will be time set aside for snacks and the children will also have the opportunity for play time/recess.

Children are dropped off at the start of each day and picked up at the end of the session. We will hold 2 sessions, an AM and a PM session. The AM session will run from 0830-1130. The PM session will run from 1215-315. Drop off will be 10 minutes prior to the start of the session and parents can start waiting to pick up kids about 10 minutes before the session ends.

With the financial help of the Jackson Township Professional Firefighters Union, Jackson Township and the City of Grove City, we are happy to continue to offer Safety Town at no cost.

Safety Town will be held at JC Sommer Elementary School at the intersection of Kingston Avenue and Haughn Rd. Questions can be emailed to [email protected].
