We are asking for prayers for one of our graduates. 16–year-old Katherine Adams just finished her sophomore year at St. Patrick and was just diagnosed with cancer. Knowing how much her school family means to her, Katherine’s parents reached out to ask for your prayers. Please join us in lifting Katherine up in prayer while she begins her battle with cancer. We are also praying for her twin Ella, and their parents Dan and Ellen Adams as they navigate this difficult journey. The family appreciates any and all prayers at this time. 🙏🏻
We hope everyone has a great summer break. We can’t wait to see everyone back in August.

We are very excited to introduce our new Assistant Principal at St. James Catholic School for the upcoming school year, Mr. Paul Correro!
My name is Paul J. Correro, Jr., and I'm humbled and very honored to serve as the new Assistant Principal here at St. James Catholic Elementary School. I have been a devoted Catholic my entire life. I have been a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood, MS, St. Francis of Assisi in New Albany, MS, and now I am truly blessed to be a member of St James Catholic Church since 2012. I have been a Knights of Columbus member for the past 32 years as a Third Degree and Fourth Degree member. I served on the Knights of Columbus Degree team for seven years. I also had the rare privilege of Knighting my Father and Grandfather into the Fourth Degree when I served as Faithful Navigator in Greenwood, MS.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Education in 1998 from Delta State University and my Master of Science Degree in Education Administration in 2002 from Mississippi State University. My teaching career began in Greenwood, MS teaching 1st grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and high school history. Upon receiving my Master's Degree, I moved to the small town of Myrtle, MS located in Northeast Mississippi where I served as Principal of West Union Attendance Center, a public school serving grades K-12. I served West Union for ten years. In 2012, I had the opportunity to move to the amazing Gulf Coast in Gulfport, MS and join the Gulfport School District to serve as assistant principal.
I have been an active board member of the Mississippi Association of Secondary School Principals from 2009 to 2016. During my educational career, I have been the recipient of several awards for teaching and administration. My most notable award was receiving the 2008 MASSP High School Principal of the Year Award, in which a banquet of celebration was held in Washington D.C.
I am excited to have the opportunity of working with all of the stakeholders of St. James Elementary Catholic School. What an honor to have the opportunity to contribute to the spiritual and academic growth and development of the young minds at St. James, and the tremendous opportunity to promote professional growth and development, as well as teamwork and cooperation with the faculty and staff of St. James Catholic School. I look forward to mentoring and sharing our Catholic Faith as we move forward as Disciples of Jesus Christ. Thank you.
God Bless,
Paul J. Correro, Jr
