The ladies at the Hanover Food Pantry were delighted to receive a donation from Phoenix Lodge and the Lodges from the 18th Masonic District. The food was collected at the May Lodge of Instruction held at Phoenix.
Mystery solved. In January 2020 Bro Ian MacKenzie presented Wor Bruce MacGregor with The St. Martins Lodge Traveling Sextant (Chatham). We weren't sure what we were to do with it and it was eventually stored away and more or less forgotten. Then, in the Spring 2024 Issue of the Trowel, there was an article about the sextant and how St. Martins Lodge was trying to locate it. Realizing what we had we immediately contacted them and last night Wor Tyler MacGregor returned the sextant to Wor William Amaru and six other members of the Lodge who made the trip up to Hanover.
Sad to report that our most senior living Past Master Kenton Greene past last week at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham. Two days before he died we were able to present him with his 70 year Anniversary pin and George Washington Service Medal.

For 35 years Phoenix Lodge has been awarding scholarships to graduates at South Shore Regional Vocational High School. We refer to them as "Working Tool" scholarships and are given in memory of two deceased lodge members and educators Ed Skarbek and Richard Haines. This year's recipients were Nathan Gillis and Griffin Carrick. The presentation was made by Bro. Nicholas Bunker, himself a previous scholarship recipient (2015).
Bro. Robert Heywood was awarded the George Washington Service Medal honoring his service in the military and issued by the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. The medal was presented to him by Wor. Tyler MacGregor and R.W. Lawrence Friedman.
Another presentation at Phoenix Lodge this week. Rob Visser (2nd from right) presented his son Eric (2nd from left) the Lewis Jewel given to a man whose father is/was a Mason. Assisting in the presentation were Wor. Tyler MacGregor, Wor. Bruce St. Aubin and R.W. Larry Friedman.
Busy night last Thursday. More posts to come. Bruce St. Aubin was presented a 15 year anniversary pin as a Mason by Wor. Tyler MacGregor and D.D. Larry Friedman. Bruce is a Past Master at Phoenix and current Master at Corner Stone Lodge in Duxbury.

This Thursday is our regular monthly meeting at Phoenix Lodge.
You’ve seen us support the local food pantries, you’ve seen us put on a clothing drive for those in need, you’ve seen us give out multiple scholarships to the South Shore Vocational School, you’ve been to our Blood Drives, and you’ve been to our monthly breakfasts.
You know the deal; we are a bunch of guys from all walks of life that get together periodically to eat, drink, learn and decide what we can do to help our community. The friendship is unbelievable!!
We have a social period at 5:30 with dinner at 6. Stop in to have some food, make some friends, and find out a little about masonry. I guarantee that you will feel completely welcome.
Phoenix Lodge is located at 133 Broadway in Hanover. Just behind Marylou’s Coffee in Hanover 4 Corners.
If you live a little too far fret not because I have 7 other lodges to introduce you to.
Guys, this is the greatest fraternity on the planet, and this could be the best thing that you will ever do!
We’ll see you there!
On this week's podcast: We travel back in time to learn the history of Brotherhood in Freemasonry.
The Gettysburg National Battlefield "Friend to Friend" Memorial was dedicated in 1993 by the GL of Pennsylvania. Bro. David de Hosson takes us inside his visit and the story of how, even during the darkest hours, the ties of Brotherhood still united us.
