COURTESY POST (with updated phone number and location)
Around ten year old mutt. She’s very loving with her people. Loves to lounge around most of the day. She will play occasionally but only for about two or three minutes. She would much rather be cuddled up in a blanket. Crate trained, leash trained, and house broken. Her name is Memphis Mae.
Preferred method of contact is my cell phone by text. 732-546-1974. Located in Hanover PA, willing to drive a reasonable distance.

Daisy is also thankful for leftovers! She's much more gentle than Chubbs, who attacked the pan like an angry raccoon.

Struggling to lose weight during the holiday season? Poppy will happily help you by licking the whipped cream off your iced coffee when you're not looking!
Poppy's other major talent is being the absolute best playmate for dogs who like to run and wrestle. She is nervous around people at first (and a total cuddle bug once she gets comfortable), but has never met a dog she didn't immediately love. If you have a canine friend who needs exercise (preferably with a fenced yard to turn them loose in), please consider adding Poppy to your family! She is also safe and friendly around cats and kids, and is house and crate trained.

Please share to help Daisy find a home for Christmas!
This sweet and smart girl is doing well in foster care, but it's just a temporary spot for her and we need to find her forever home soon. Daisy is well trained, quiet, and active. She is strong and fast and would make a good jogging buddy. She has a strong prey drive and needs a securely fenced yard or a leash anytime she is outside. Daisy does well with dogs and kids but can not live in a house with cats. She is a good guard dog, snuggle buddy, and playmate. At just 10 years old, the only medication she needs is Apoquel for itching, although we do recommend a joint supplement to help her stay active. Daisy has NO adoption fee for previous adopters or their direct referrals.
This poor girl has been through so much this year. Please help her get the happy ending she so deserves!

Another happy update from this weekend:
Paddy's adopters were looking for a kitten to be friends with their lonely young cat (the only circumstance in which we allow kittens to go home solo). Paddy stole their hearts and went home Wednesday, and settled in right away. But Saturday we got the news that they couldn't stop thinking about his sister, and they'd decided to adopt her too! So little Rose is now with her brother in their forever home. Who would have thought the shed kittens would get snatched up so quickly??
Little Paddy, now Noodles. From my shed to his new sister's lap. This is why we do it.

Mya (12, darker coloring) and Lily (10, lighter coloring) have unexpectedly lost both of their parents in the past four months. They have both been in their family since they were puppies and have been very loved, spoiled, and well cared for over the years. They are now suddenly in need of new homes that will provide them the love and care that they so deserve! Both dogs are used to having a fenced in yard their entire lives and very much prefer free time in the yard over being leashed. Mya and Lily are both very sweet shepherd mixes. Mya has always got along fine with male dogs (and has lived with 4 different males just fine), but she has shown aggression toward Lily (female). Mya should not live with cats. Lily is extremely shy and timid and has never shown any aggression whatsoever toward another dog (male or female). How she would do with cats is unknown. Both dogs have spent time around their parents’ granddaughter (now 2.5 years old) and have been gentle with her. We want to be very sure that the girls end up in the right homes that will treat them right for the last few years of their lives. Their lives have been turned upside down these past few months, and they are ready to settle into a comfortable home. They are located in Lenhartsville, PA. If you think you are the right home for Mya or Lily, please reach out to Aron at [email protected] or 610-509-0271.
I think the old gals might be a little chilly
Welcome Robbie! This chunky hunk is about as awesome as they come. He gets along with dogs, cats, and new people. He is quiet and house trained and loves to go for walks. Robbie about 11 years old, neutered and UTD on vaccines. He is ready to go home now!

Zelda and Peach! This mother/daughter duo are still looking for their forever home. They live with other cats and kittens but would also do fine as solo cats. Both seem curious about dogs and are comfortable giving swats when the big ones get too close.

Some new (to me) reasons for owners wanting to surrender their pets, taken from this weekend's emails:
*We had one cat, adopted a second cat but they lied about her age (older than what we wanted). After a few months she started getting along with our first cat, but yesterday we adopted a kitten and she doesn't like it. So we want to rehome her (yes, the senior cat. Not the kitten.)
*My dog doesn't like to be groomed and I "don't have much of an excuse to pay extra" to take her somewhere that will sedate her.
Plus all the regular excuses of course. Friends, we need to stop normalizing treating pets as disposable objects. If you can't commit to an animal NO MATTER WHAT, that's fine, totally understandable: not everyone can make that kind of promise. But then... obviously... don't get a pet!
Here's a pic of the 4 biggest dogs squished on the couch with me and a Chihuahua, to cheer us all up.
This little dust mop is getting so big. We hate seeing our kittens grow up in foster care! Jan and her siblings are ready to get adopted NOW! Being a fluffy kitten, Jan is the only one of our 8 adoptable kittens who has received any interest. However, as with all of our kittens, we are not sending her home alone!

Please share with your rescue contacts. Our sweet Poppy came from this little shelter
Two kittens are always better than one! We do not adopt out single kittens, to give them the best chance at success in their forever homes. Did you know that "single kitten syndrome" is a leading cause of returns to rescues and shelters? If you're looking for just one new friend, consider an adult cat who does not need or want a feline friend. There are so many waiting to find homes!
Thank you all for sharing Daisy's post. She is in a temporary foster home, but the resident dog there does not like other animals so it is not an ideal situation to keep her in. Please continue to share! Daisy is dog and people friendly, well trained, fun and funny and smart!
We were surprised to see a hematoma on Daisy's ear when she arrived. After speaking with the shelter and our vet, it was confirmed that the hematoma was a result of an ongoing ear infection, which was treated at the shelter and which we treated again at our vet on Monday. However, there was also a need for Daisy's ear to be repaired, and we were faced with an unexpected surgery which cost over $700. Our little rescue has suffered through the recession this year, same as everyone else. But sadly our doors are now officially closed, with one exception coming in a few weeks. We simply cannot afford any more surprises, and have many fosters and permanent residents here who have daily expenses.
Please donate to help cover Daisy's surgery expenses, if you are able. If not, thank you for your continued support in sharing our posts and spreading the word about our mission.
Emergency foster or adopter needed!!
Sweet Daisy arrived early this morning from NC. Although she passed her cat test at the shelter, as soon as she arrived in her foster home she zeroed in on the first cat she saw. She continued to stalk the cat even when he was removed from the room. We have many cats in our only foster home, so unfortunately it is not a safe option for Daisy to remain here. In order to avoid her being kept in a crate, we are hoping to secure immediate placement in a foster or permanent home.
Daisy is 10 years old, spayed, house trained, and in good overall health. Her whole world was turned upside down a few weeks ago when her dad fell ill, and surrendered his two pit bulls to the county shelter. Sadly he did not live to see the girls make it to safety. Their deadline was Friday: Daisy came to us and her sister was adopted hours before their scheduled euthanasia. Both girls lived indoors and were loved and well cared for. PLEASE help us find a loving home for Daisy. We are trying so hard to help "just one more", and it's not working out so well this time.
There is NO adoption fee for previous adopters, and NO fees for fosters- all expenses are covered by the rescue. Daisy tested well with dogs at the shelter but needs time and space to decompress. Daisy is currently in Hanover PA (17331).

I guess the laundry will have to wait!
The mountain kittens are great with adult cats! Here they are "nursing" from Uncle Link, who I'm pretty sure is now plotting his escape.

Not sure why we got ZERO interest in Ruby on our last post, but here it is again since people are asking now:
This lovely girl is Ruby and she's only 11 years old. Ruby is in need of a forever home! She is not a GOT dog but we're helping to place her. Please use the contact info provided if you have questions, and the link if you'd like to fill out an application.
Ruby has lived with 4 other small dogs in the home, and as long as they weren’t trying to eat her food, everyone was friends. She does urinate more frequently than your average dog but she’s recently had urine and blood tests and there’s been no diagnoses/treatment made from the vet. With this she also drinks a lot. She just had a dental about 1 month ago. She eats very well. She’s a little hard of hearing - or may be selective 😉 Other than that she just loves to be wherever people are.
Contact Kayla at [email protected] with questions, visit goodoldtails.org/dog-adoption-application to apply.
These knuckleheads love each other so much. My dream is to find them a home together. I know it would take a very special person, but special people exist right??
Yesterday's rain made for some good snuggling. This unlikely trio is Ian (smallest, very friendly and adoptable along with his brother and sister), Munchkin (ear tipped, shy but talkative), and Henny (my biggest feral, trapped at Bay City two years ago).
Did you know that in addition to our adoptable cats and kittens, we have a large number of purr-manent residents that we house and care for? Issues range from medical to behavioral, but we do our very best to make sure everyone has enough space, love, and medical care to be happy for as long as they have left. Our numbers are higher than ever this year and we are sadly closed for intake. Please consider adding to your family so we can make room in ours!
Joseph is happy, loved, and spoiled in his forever home!
UPDATE: Adopted!!
COURTESY POST (Please use the contact info provided, and share this post to help little Grace find a forever home!):
Grace is a chiweenie. She is almost 5 years old. She is sweet, good with other dogs who are also friendly. She likes cats but she likes to play with them even if they don't want to play...lol. She has severe anxiety because she was abused by a previous owner. She loves being petted and loved.
Please email [email protected] with questions!
