As of August 17, 2024 : NO real estate agent or real estate agent MAY open and show you a home without you signing an agreement with them, the same will happen when asked or consulted directly with the listing agent.

In the past, some realtors already operated this way, but many didn't. Historically, it’s never been a problem: we contact a potential home of interest, make an appointment, show you a home (or several) and proceed.

However, starting on the 17th of next month, no real estate agent will be able to open the door to that house (or any) without you first signing an agreement. It's an absolute AND MANDATORY requirement, no exceptions (hefty fines).

Here's where selecting the RIGHT agent for YOU will be key.. You’ll want to work with someone who believes they’ll not only find the perfect home for you, but will also look out for your best interests. A skilled negotiator is 🔑 A real estate transaction can be uniquely complicated most of the time, they are never exactly the same with each other and have their own challenges. Work with someone who will do all of that for you, and more.
