LLT Legends Cup Challenge 03/05/2024

Greetings LLT Alumni,
We are thrilled to announce the inauguration of the first annual LLT Legends Cup. The idea of this competition was an awesome brainchild of the current LLT Class of 2024. It stems from the ongoing debate to recognize the "actual" Best LLT Class Ever.
What better way to establish this distinction than through a spirited fundraising competition? The aim is not only to determine the Best LLT Class Ever, but also to support the Class of 2024 and their Community Service Project.

Picture this: the resounding declaration, "LLT Class of _____, BEST CLASS EVER!!!" echoing far and wide with undisputed authority all across the Little Traverse Bay Region.

The best part? The Best LLT Class Ever/Legends Cup is not a one-time affair; it is designed to become a fun and meaningful legacy competition for LLT Alumni. It will serve as a perpetual source of funding for each forthcoming LLT Community Service Project, ensuring LLT Alumni impact resonates in the future.
For more information, check out the official rules here.
*We know many members of each class might have changed jobs or moved from the area, so be sure to try and personally share this will all your classmates to have the best chance for full participation.

Please come join The Leadership Little Traverse Class of 2024 and North Central Michigan College for a Luncheon Lecture regarding NCMC's Child Care Initiative on Friday 1.22.2024 from 11:30 AM - 1 PM at the NCMC Library Conference Center. This luncheon lecture will have an introduction to the Leadership Little Traverse program which is hosted by both the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce and Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and why they chose the Child Care Initiative as their community service project. We will then hear from NCMC's Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator Jen Wixson who will then share findings from Phase 1 of the Child Care Initiative. In this phase, a team, led by Wixson, conducted thorough research and collected community input through surveys, focus groups and interviews. This phase identified five key impact areas: Affordability, Accessibility, Capacity, Workforce Opportunities, and Quality of care. Proposed evidence and community-based innovations were carefully vetted for impact and feasibility.

Dear LLT Alumni family - we wanted to share with you the needs of one of our current co-hort of LLT Class of 2024. Gabbie Mason, of Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth CPAs and her husband lost their home, along with their two dogs, to a fire this weekend. Gabbie has been a happy, energetic and enthusiastic ray of light from the first session in September, and the class is rallying behind her to work with family and friends to share the GoFundMe, meal train and donation drop offs.

If you are able, please support Gabbie and her family. Sharing this information as an LLT Alumni is also a wonderful way to show your support. The LLT Steering Committee thanks you in advance for spreading the word.

Thrive45 Third Annual Heartfelt Holidays Card Drive Underway! Holidays can be hard on senior citizens, especially those who may be isolated or don't have a support system. Luckily there's something easy and fun we can all do to make a difference! Thrive45 Young Professionals group is kicking off our third annual "Heartfelt Holidays" Letter Drive to reconnect with our community's elders.

Making holiday cards is a perfect activity for kids and adults alike - get your friends, family, classroom, or workplace involved and help us reach our goal of 1,000 letters!

Using colorful cards or stationary, write a short, generic letter or warm message. Make sure it stays positive, supportive, and respectful. Messages must be generic because we will not be receiving any names or addresses. It's also best not to make assumptions of gender, background, or ability. Remember, our community is diverse!

Place the letter in a blank envelope, unsealed. No stamps are necessary. If you would like your recipient to know who you are, you can include your return address on the envelope.

Mail or drop off your letter(s) to the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce anytime during the workweek (M-F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) by Friday, December 16. The letters will be collected, screened, and counted by Thrive 45 volunteers before being sent to senior living communities and service agencies the following week.

Questions can be directed to our team at [email protected]. We can't wait to see your creations!
