Congratulations and welcome the newest member of the Texas Army National Guard, PVT Jordan Martinez! PVT Martinez enlisted as a 68W, Health Care Specialist, and will attend basic training this summer then return to finish his senior year at Harlingen High School. After job training, he will then use his National Guard education benefits to attend college and work to become a physical therapist!

Today, Gov. Greg Abbott presented former Texas Army National Guard Soldier Jack Wilson with the Governor's Medal of Courage to honor his brave actions during the West Freeway Church of Christ shooting. The courage of Jack Wilson's actions cannot be understated. Congratulations!

Here are two relevant jobs in the military to help you get there!

MOS 31A—Military Police Officer.
Description / Major Duties: The Army's Military Police (MP) provide an important function in full spectrum Army operations. The Army's Military Police can be utilized during offensive operations, defensive operations, stability operations, and civil support operations.

MOS 11B—Infantryman.
Description / Major Duties: The infantryman supervises, leads, or serves as a member of an infantry activity that employs individual small arms weapons or heavy anti-infantry crew served weapons, either vehicle or dismounted in support of offensive and defensive combat operations.
