Did you know that women are 50% more susceptible to concussions and take twice as long to recover compared to men? This is due to a combination of factors, including weaker neck muscles, which make women more vulnerable to acceleration-deceleration injuries. Strengthening the neck muscles can significantly reduce the risk of concussion—just a 1-pound increase in strength can lower the chance of injury by 5%!

Hormonal factors, like progesterone, also play a role in recovery, making it even more important for women to take extra care when it comes to concussion prevention.
