Shannon has been with Brookshire Brothers for around 10 years, with 7 of those spent in the pharmacy. When asked what she wishes more people knew about pharmacy work, Shannon shared, "It's more than just counting pills and slapping a label on a bottle."
Shannon’s top health advice is simple but important: "Always wash your hands and avoid drinking after others." When she’s feeling under the weather, her remedy is straightforward: "I try to get as much sleep as possible." Outside of the pharmacy, Shannon loves spending time with her daughter and her cat, Raisin.

Angie has been with Brookshire Brothers for 10 years, bringing care and expertise daily to her work. When asked what more people should know about pharmacy work, Angie emphasized the importance of accuracy. "It's not just about putting pills in a bottle. Making sure what you’re typing and dispensing is correct takes precision, so patience is key when picking up your medicine."
When it comes to health advice, Angie keeps it real. "I struggle with this daily, but some kind of diet and exercise is best for everyone."One medication name that always gets Angie and her coworkers laughing is Tylenol, also known as "Tylen-ALLLL," especially when said with a thick country accent. Outside of work, Angie enjoys unwinding with a good book or spending time with family and friends.

Bonnie Massengale has been with Brookshire Brothers for 16 years. She emphasizes the importance of loving to help others in pharmacy work: "Being patient and kind makes me work harder and faster." Her top health advice is to "see your doctor regularly and take only YOUR medications." A medication name that always makes her laugh is Golytely, noting that it "makes you go heavily!" Outside of work, Bonnie loves spending time with her family by working cows, trapping coyotes, jet skiing, and fishing.

Sarah Travis has spent 10 years at Brookshire Brothers. Sarah states, "Kindness, patience, and understanding mean the world to us." Sarah’s health advice is simple: "Drink more water, please!" Outside of the pharmacy, Sarah enjoys playing video games, binge-watching TV shows with friends, and cooking new recipes she finds online.

Kristan Ellison also has 16 years of experience at Brookshire Brothers. Her top health advice is to "wash your hands!" The medication name that always brings her a smile is "Tada...lafil." In her free time, Kristan enjoys couponing.

As we continue celebrating National Pharmacy Week, today we’re excited to introduce Chris Wilson, Pharmacy Manager, from Lumberton! 💊🩺

Chris has been part of the Brookshire Brothers for 7 years this April. When asked what he wishes more people knew about pharmacy work, Chris shared that “all medications have pros and cons.” His top piece of health advice? “Stop smoking and take your maintenance medication consistently.” One medication name that always makes Chris laugh is Xarelto, which he finds particularly clever because it’s shaped like a platelet and its name incorporates its mechanism of action. Outside of work, Chris enjoys walking his dog while his children ride their bikes.

Tara Peters has been with Brookshire Brothers for 13 years. When asked what she wishes more people knew about pharmacy work, she shared, "It can be very hard work, and things are constantly changing, but it is one of the most rewarding jobs. People really appreciate the extra mile you will go for them." A medication name that always makes her laugh is Gabapentin, which someone once humorously called "grabberpentin." "I’ve never said it the correct way since!" Outside the pharmacy, Tara loves to unwind by reading, whether it’s a physical book or her trusty Kindle.

Chris Van Eaton has been part of the Brookshire Brothers family for 10 years. He wishes more people understood "how much goes into each prescription we fill and how much we enjoy providing pharmaceutical care to our community!" Chris’s health advice is simple: "Laughter really may be the best medicine."
Chris can't help but laugh at the name Torsemide, saying it sounds like "an 80s cartoon villain." Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his amazing wife and two children, going for long runs, and cheering on UT football.

It’s National Pharmacy Week, and today we’re shining the spotlight on E.J. Goodrum from Lufkin!

E.J. has been a valued member of the Brookshire Brothers team for 3.5 years. When asked what more people should know about pharmacy work, E.J. highlighted the vital role pharmacy technicians play. "Pharmacy technicians are often the ones calling doctors for refills, resolving insurance issues, and helping the pharmacist prioritize patient care." For health advice, E.J. reminds us of the importance of managing stress. "Stress plays a pivotal role in our health. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and prioritizing sleep are key to reducing it."
One medication name that always makes E.J. laugh is Ondansetron. "It sounds like something from a Transformers movie!"Outside of the pharmacy, E.J. enjoys spending quality time with his family, whether playing sports with his sons, reading with his daughter, or spending time with his wife.
