More Hilliard residents will be eligible for senior discounts on future trash and recycling bills, and the City has expanded the collection period for yard waste as part of next year's trash, recycling, and yard waste collection service.

Hilliard residents will see an increase in their trash and recycling bill starting with the next billing cycle. The standard six-month rate for service will be $141. Residents who pay for a full year of service in advance will receive a $10 discount ($272). The adjustments are based on increased service delivery costs from Local Waste, including increased fuel costs, rising wages, and other effects of inflation. This will be the first increase in the cost of trash collection since 2021.

The City offers 10% standard discounts to residents over age 60. These seniors also can receive an additional $10 discount by paying their annual bill in full rather than in semiannual payments. Discounts also are available for certain financial hardships.
