With June ending and July starting, summer is half way over!! Are you looking for something to keep your child active the second half of summer? We have had 4 awesome weeks of camp this year and still have 4 more!! We have had over 250 campers so far, but there is always room for more!! We're ready for you to come pick up your plant orders!

Thanks to our veteran volunteers for making it a smooth delivery and sorting of orders.

There has been major confusion as to when the flower sale plant pick up is.

Pick up is TOMORROW, SATURDAY, APRIL 27th. 11AM-1PM in the Edgewyn Parking Lot at Beacon.

PTO MEETING TONIGHT AT 7PM!

A huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers who helped with the recent Scholastic Book Fair.

Whether you helped students find books, reshelf items after browsing days or assisted in the counting of over $100 in coins-not exaggerating-I greatly appreciate it.

We have many positions open for PTO officers next year! Most parents and guardians are busy and are concerned that having a position will take too much time. We are so grateful for any time you can give, because without officers, we cannot function as a PTO. We also need room parents and committee chairs for the 2024-2025 school year

Available openings:

TREASURER takes care of all monies (deposits and payments) associated with PTO, maintains the budget and provides an updated budget at each PTO meeting.

SECRETARY takes notes at PTO meetings and reports on previous meetings

VICE PRESIDENT STAFF: liason between staff and PTO. Plans late night conference dinners for teachers, and teacher appreciation week. Also helps with staff supply requests.

VUCE PRESIDENT VOLUNTEER : help recruit volunteers for specific events, helps with sign ups etc.

VICE PRESIDENT FUNDRAISING : oversees fundraisers with chairperson for each event (Walk a Thon, Read a Thon, Book Fairs, Flower Sales etc

If your student has unspent funds in their Scholastic eWallet, those funds will be converted to a Scholastic e-Gift Card.

You can either use the money to purchase items online at the Scholastic website or roll the funds over next fall to create a new eWallet for another book fair -both 6th grade buildings host book fairs too!

The Scholastic Book Fair is off to a great start! Students have purchased some great books to add to their home library.

We've been busy restocking shelves and have an additional order of books on their way.

Wednesday's schedule to buy books is during the school day; 9:00-3:30.

NEXT LATE SHOPPING NIGHT IS THURSDAY, MARCH 14TH, 3:30-6:00 P.M.

This weekend's flower sales were busier than popcorn in a skillet. But the numbers have been tallied and its time to announce which classroom brought home the bacon...

After a late order of 7 items, Kiefer's Kinetic Kolache is the top banana, selling 94 items total. 2nd place went to Kelly's Kooky Kielbasa, which sold 89 items. To round out the top three was Vassel's Vigorous Vermicelli, selling 84 items.

These three classes combined accounted for over 33% of the total sales. Each of these classrooms will receive a small token of appreciation from the PTO.

On Monday and Tuesday, students will be visiting the book fair with their classrooms.

They will create a 'wish list' of books that spark their interest. It will look like a receipt. HOWEVER, YOU ARE NOT UNDER ANY OBLIGATION TO PURCHASE THE ITEMS ON THE WISH LIST. The receipt format makes it easy to see the items clearly (vs student's handwriting) and allows you to budget funds, including sales tax, should you decide to buy.

Use the 'receipt' to discuss any purchases with your student.

On delivery day, I always get a bad case of FOMO seeing all the different plants coming off the truck and wish I would have bought one for myself-Its kinda like the dessert cart rolling by at a restaurant, minus the drool (for the most part).

As I browse the catalog yet again, I realize that Beacon is selling some plants that are not listed in general catalog posted on Foertmeyer's website...they've put us in a trial program to test some new plant varieties...in the plant nerd world, THIS IS SUPER COOL.!!!

I may have justified some additions to my collections!

Kelly's Kooky Kielbasa has taken the lead from Kiefer's Kinetic Kolache! The kielbasa have sold 87 items and the kolache 86....and we also have a class that DOUBLED their sales since yesterday, Endicott's Exuberant Edamame!

Sale runs through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, March 10th.
