9:30AM - 5th Grade Recognition
Each year, we have a ceremony in the cafeteria to celebrate our amazing 5th graders. This ceremony includes: 5th grade speeches, certificate distribution/recognition of each student, and a lovely musical performance. Please plan on arriving 10 minutes before 9:30 to grab a seat!
10:45AM -Clap Out
We always end our recognition with a CLAP OUT! All of the students/staff at Brown Elementary step out into the hallway and applaud our 5th graders as they march through our school for all of the amazing things they have accomplished in their elementary career!
We ask that parents go out onto the playground immediately following recognition to end our CLAP OUT right outside the playground doors. This will lead directly into our Lunch on the Lawn which is detailed below.
11:00AM - Lunch on the Lawn
Exciting news! We're thrilled to announce our upcoming "Lunch on the Lawn" event, set to take place on the last day of school, May 31st. This special occasion offers students the chance to share a meal with someone they cherish, creating cherished memories to wrap up the academic year. To foster a sense of unity and make it easier to find students in the same grade level, we're thrilled to have our final Spirit Day of Grade Level Colors - 5th Grade: GRAY (5th Grade Shirts)
**Event Details:**
Date & Time: May 31st, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Location: Brown Elementary Playground
Lunch Options: You're welcome to bring your own special lunch for you and your child(ren). Alternatively, the PTO will provide a picnic-style meal consisting of an all-beef hotdog, chips, fruit, and a cookie. Water also provided

**Logistics:**
Parking: We know that parking can be a challenge, so we invite families to park alongside the access road or by the Bradley tennis courts and the children will meet you outside.
Seating: For your comfort, please bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on during the event.
Signing Out: If you plan on leaving with your child after lunch, kindly sign them out with their classroom teacher to ensure everyone's safety and security.
We anticipate that this event will be a heartwarming way to conclude the school year and usher in the summer break. We're eagerly looking forward to seeing all the smiling faces and happy families at "Lunch on the Lawn"! Please see the included map for where to meet your child(ren) on the playground. Please note, you are not required to sit in this area to eat.

Tomorrow, Brown Elementary will host FUTURE YOU, a career day event! We will have parents and community members set up at tables in our gym for students to walk around and observe, chat with, and ask questions. Students will be given Career Day Passports to write down notes about careers that interest them. In the afternoon, there will be a 'Touch a Truck' experience with a variety of vehicles for kids to see up close!
At our annual Art Breakfast, we invite graduating seniors with artwork in our gallery to come back with their families for a special breakfast. They receive their framed work, a ton of thanks and well-wishes, and a few dozen hugs. It’s a Brown tradition that’s been going on for over 30 years and we are so thankful to keep it going!

We will prepare for clap out by gathering outside the primary grade hallway doors at 3:00 pm – traveling down the hall and out the 5th grade doors. Current Brown students will be lined up to clap for you once again. After clap out feel free to head back into the building through the front doors and return to the Media Center. You are welcome to stay and visit until 4:00 pm.
