You might wonder why I take time out of my business schedule to watch. Not only am I BIG FAN, but
it showcases so many aspects of Body Neutrality and being a Body Joyful Woman.
~Women supporting and encouraging each other rather than judging and comparing
~Women playing and competing at the highest level under great stress and succeeding (the players demonstrate grace and great sports woman-ship regardless of winning or losing)
~Women overcoming adversity and preserving (games are won in the final at bat!)
~Women being tenacious, determined, committed and being great teammates
~Women experiencing joy and fun (see what happens in the dugout and the smiles and laughter)

I was better on the field than at bat...but here is a rare picture of me laying down a bunt in 1979...
Comparing yourself to another, is thinking that your own assumptions of that person are true, and unfortunately all you see is the outsideโฆand the moments in time you see the outside. We never can assume we know what is happening with anyone else. I hope you can pause to remember that when you think someone else has it all figured out.
Happy Mother's Day...to all who play the role of Mom, in one way or another. The generations roll on...
4 years today...I miss you more every passing year. Thank you for the life you shared with our family. I am forever blessed by your love, laugher, wisdom, strength and incredible resilience. I love you mom.

I had no idea what this note was all about. I was blind to the obsessive thoughts and feelings. Food and exercise were all that mattered. From the moment I woke up in the morning to the time my head hit the pillow. Counting and calculating, such a familiar way of thinking.
So familiar in fact, that the first time I fell into that trap was back in 1974, when I was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa. I assumed I was recovered, until I realized I was not, and for the next 26 years my body was the enemy. Food was my obsession, and exercise was my punishment. . So happy to have a visit from my good friend this weekend. for the memories, laughter and conversations โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธthis feels like a breath of fresh air ๐
I had a picture of the cream of mushroom soup I made this morning, but it certainly was NOT as beautiful as this!!! So I digress. A morning full of self careโฆ80โs morning walk, cooking:cream of mushroom soup, sautรฉs mushrooms, sausage, hard boiled eggs, prepping fruits and veggies, cleaning and zooming family. Self-care is not about massages and manicures (although it can be) it is more about taking care of what your emotional and physical body need. I know I need fresh air, moving my body and nourishing foods.
Self-care library time turned into new book. Thanks brain, bring it on, I am readyโฆ
