I just updated my PC desktop Zoom file to version 6.1.0. This version just came out in the last couple of days. When I ran the self test, everything looked fine. My virtual background was the same as the last time I used it. However, when I went to change my background, all my previous virtual backgrounds including the one I was using was no longer available. I only had 2 choices--None or Blur. I can add all the virtual backgrounds back in again because I have them saved. However you should be aware this may happen to you when you upgrade as well.
Before I upgraded, I attempted to change my profile image. When I tried to get into my profile it asked for my password. After entering the password it told me I had the wrong password. That might be a possibility if I was entering the password manually. But I have a password manager that does that for me.
Because of the wide variety of systems out there, this may or may not happen to you when you update. But at least you'll be prepared.

Apparently the latest version of Zoom has been given some AI capabilities. They sound as if they could be most useful--especially if you show up a little late for the meeting. Bob, the narrator, speaks a little slowly for my taste, so I boost the speed up to 1.25 on his YouTube video and that works well for me.
ZOOM - AI Companion Using the "Ask Meeting Question" function in ZOOMAI is making ZOOM smarter, easier and more productive.Give it a try the next time you're in a ZOOM meeting.
Be careful if you should get your Google or Samsung smartphone repaired and non authorized parts are used in the repair.
Google won't return phones sent in for repair if they have unauthorized parts If you send a phone to Google for repair and the company finds unauthorized parts, it will keep the phone.

The Internet is a great place to get information. The Internet is also a great place to get misinformation and disinformation. The News Literacy Project is an organization dedicated for providing Internet users with the knowledge and tools to fact-check sources of information they might find on the Internet--especially social media. They have a YouTube playlist of one hour webinars they have run over the course of time. They deal with a wide variety of topics from deep fakes to accidental misinformation being posted and how to recognize it. While political activity is mentioned it finds examples of good and bad from all political parties and not just one they don't like. Many of the webinars can be used as educational aids in classroom situations.

For those that are trying to follow all the latest advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), there have been a whole bunch (technical term 😉) of announcements about new features. If you would like to see a summary of these new features there is a YouTube video at: https://tinyurl.com/AINews20240517 . The narrator speaks rather quickly so you may want to consider slowing the speed to .75 using the YouTube gear icon.
