We had a BLAST at Star Party Space Night! Families and students contributed to our Mars habitat community while also coding robots to save astronauts and building paper helicopters. Hawaiʻi VEX IQ Championships qualifies 7 elementary and middle school robotics teams for World event in Dallas, TX. Sponsored by Hawaiian Electric, the Championships were held this past weekend at Ewa Makai Middle School. A total of 59 teams competed and showcased their robots, gameplay, and strategy!

pre-service teachers got to play around with VEX 123 robots and designed their own engineering project! These teachers will be beginning their student teaching next year and are well equipped with robotics knowledge to bring to their classrooms
Computer science starts early with robotics program going to Hawai’i island schools! Through grant funding, teachers walked away with a VEX123 kit, resources, lessons, and a network of robotics opportunities and ideas today

Hawaii VRC Championships qualified 7 high and middle school teams for the World Championships in Dallas, TX. Sponsored by Hawaiian Electric, the Championships were held this past weekend at the Hawaii Army National Guard. 44 teams competed and showcased their game strategy, teamwork and design in fierce robot matches and gameplay!

15 teachers learned how to integrate Computer Science and Robotics into their classroom curriculum. They created fun and engaging projects for their students to do. Each received a VEX 123 bundle and will now try it with their students. Can’t wait to see what projects and lessons they will come up with for their students!

Just some of the highlights from the annual Institute for Astronomy (IFA) Open House that was hosted in Mānoa this past Sunday. It featured over two dozen different science themed projects for audience of all ages to enjoy. Activities included soaring soda bottle rocket pumps, cute little CubeSats, endless gravity well vacuums, our very own Create & Code robot station, and so much more... 🔭
