The Tradewinds Quintet concluded their tour of Maui on Friday, bringing smiles at more stops along the way! We would like to extend a mahalo nui loa to Princess Nahi'ena'ena Elementary, the Maui Ocean Center, and Kalama Intermediate School. Thank you for welcoming our Sailors, allowing us to perform, interact, and share what being a U.S. Navy Sailor looks like with your students and patrons!

On Monday, the Tradewinds Quintet made a splash at two Wailuku elementary schools on Maui. Mahalo nui loa to Pu'u Kukui and Wailuku Elementary Schools for welcoming our Sailors and allowing us the opportunity to share the Navy experience through music with your students!

Detweiler was presented the Colonel Finley R. Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award for his exceptional musicianship and leadership.
Colonel Hamilton had an illustrious 35-year career as a conductor in the U.S. Army Bands Program and was an active member of the American Bandmasters Association. After passing away from cancer in 2009, the Colonel Finley R. Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award was created to honor his memory and impact on military music. Every year, this award is presented to one distinguished musician from each of the U.S. Armed Forces bands.

Since coming aboard in 2021, Cameron deployed on Pacific Partnership 2023 and had the opportunity to perform in Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, and more.

Please join us in extending a fair winds and following seas to Musician 2nd Class Ben Hood as he departs for the Naval School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia!
Through his involvement on Pacific Partnership 2022 and 2024-1, Hood has had opportunities to perform in Vietnam, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, and Palau among others.

Bravo Zulu to Musician 1st Class Jon Starr, Musician 2nd Class Rich Sullivan, and Musician 2nd Class Mike Minor for receiving Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals for their outstanding work as sound technicians!
Starr, Sullivan, and Minor were credited for providing sound reinforcement for the recent U.S. Pacific Fleet change of command ceremony. Congratulations on a job well done!

Davis joins us after completing the Basic Musician Course at the Naval School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia. Prior to ensliting, she earned her Bachelors of Music Education at Stephen F. Austin State University and taught general music to elementary school students in New York City.

A native Savannah, Georgia, Taylor joins us after completing the Basic Musician Course at the Naval School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia. He received a Bachelors of Music Education from Georgia Southern University and a Masters of Music from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music - CCM. Prior to joining the Navy, Taylor worked as an elementary school music teacher and freelance musician in Savannah.

On July 4th, Pacific Fleet Band joined military bands from several Pacific nations for the Tongan Naval Review celebrating the 65th birthday of King Tupou VI and the 50th anniversary of the Royal Tongan Navy. Malo to the Kingdom of Tonga for inviting us! 🇺🇸 🇹🇴
On Saturday, our jazz combo performed at the Haleiwa Arts Festival! It is always a pleasure to bring music to the local community. Mahalo for having us!

MU2 Boydston is off to Arizona State University to pursue a Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance as part of the Navy's Career Intermission Program.
