In cooperation with Urban Paths, Friends of the Boulevard, AARP, and Citizen Transportation Coalition, we are organizing the first ever Montrose area walk audit! A walking audit is a community driven assessment of the walkability, accessibility, safety, comfort of a roadway for people outside a personal vehicle. Thanks to AARP’s generous funding, we will documenting the sorry state of Richmond Avenue and Montrose Blvd. This is the first step in building lively, strong, dynamic neighborhoods that support community building and walkability.
We’ll be walking Montrose Boulevard from Allen Parkway to 59 and Richmond from Shepherd to the Spur. There will be opportunities to walk a half mile piece of turf every Saturday and a few Sundays between July 13th and August 3rd. We’ll provide all the safety, and goodies needed to audit the roadway.
Everyone is invited!

🙌🎉Congratulations to each and every one of you who helped voice support for the Shepherd-Durham Phase 2 Project
We are thankful to the Mayor for recognizing the transformative value of this project and allow it to move forward. However, MAKE NO MISTAKE — These “compromises” make it seem like the administration actually came up with something meaningful, but the project remains largely unchanged and the changes could have been made without so much political theater. It is terrible that we have to thank an administration for giving us something that they took away from us.
Don’t forget Shepherd Durham Phase 2 is still paused. Have you sent a post card to the mayor? Have you signed the petition? Link In Bio to continue to take action!

Building the Patterson Bridge - Call to Action before January 31!
Would you be willing to send a brief email to the TIRZ board to thank them for including the Patterson Bridge in their plans and to encourage them to take definitive steps towards its construction? www.atotb.org/tirz-call-to-action
Exciting news for Houston. A new pedestrian bridge with stunning lights is being proposed to eliminate barriers of connectivity between Uptown and Memorial Park.
Uptown District, made up of the Uptown Management District and the Uptown Redevelopment Authority (TIRZ #16) has news regarding a project submitted for the Transportation Alternatives (TA) program. The West Loop Shared-Use Trail and Bayou Bridge will connect Post Oak Boulevard to Memorial Park using:
• 1.1 mile (5856’) shared-use bike path in 14’ clear zones
• 350’ Buffalo Bayou Suspension Bridge +156’ Truss Bridge
• Memorial Park South Entrance
• West Loop Bridge Underpass
If approved, construction could start in as little as 18 months. The scale and reach of the TA Program is much larger than in previous years thanks in large part to President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

Amazing! This will make it much safer to get to Memorial Park Eastern Glades from West End by bike. Coupled with the Patterson Bikeway, this is a great example of small changes that make a huge difference for mobility in the district. Congratulations!

Knowing little to nothing about architecture, it seems Houston is embracing a new style for its iconic buildings. One that looks onto the future with open arms and determined to become a greener city.
To me, these buildings look very similar even though all their functions are quite different. Here’s to hoping to see some more of these masterpieces elevate our urban fabric and integrate our public spaces with greenery. Do you like the buildings?

Los Angeles once turned its back on its bodies of water - pouring concrete over them, fencing them off and draining away rainwater to sea—Wasting away precious resources and annihilating biodiversity.
Now, the citizens are trying to preserve, restore, activate and beautify the LA river. Imagine if we did the same in Houston along bayous like White Oak Bayou!
