Hey frans!! I'm LaShonta! I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to new followers!
Some random facts about me:
✪ I have 4 kids. They range in age from college freshman to toddler. Yes, it is chaos, thanks for asking.
✪ I love coffee, cake, and tacos. Not necessarily together, but if you want to throw a party, I'm down.
✪ I'm currently finishing up school to become a licensed therapist! It's been a looooong time coming!
✪ I love a good meme. Bonus points if it's dirty.
✪ I moved from Chicago to Houston, so basically I know what all the worst weather the US has to offer is like.
Tell me about you!!
Coaches and therapists are both professionals who help people improve their lives and overcome challenges, but they have different approaches, training, and goals!
A coach typically focuses on specific goals, such as career advancement, personal growth, or achievement of specific tasks. A coach provides guidance, motivation, and accountability to help clients identify and achieve their goals. Coaches often work with people who are generally healthy and functional but want to improve their performance or quality of life.
On the other hand, a therapist focuses on improving mental health and emotional well-being. Therapists help clients address emotional issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship problems. Therapists use a variety of techniques, such as talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, or other evidence-based interventions, to help clients improve their mental health and cope with life's challenges.
In summary, both can be valuable resources for people who want to improve their lives and overcome challenges. The choice between a coach or therapist depends on your specific needs at your current stage of life!

To close out self love month, we want to remind you that one of the best things you can do for your mental health is or**sm regularly! Few things in life create as many happy brain chemicals as The Big O. And if you need help getting there, I’d love to talk to you about options to help get you there faster and more consistently!
One of the best ways to improve your self-talk is to repeat affirmations so much it drowns out all the negativity! After a lifetime of trying to live up the expectations of everyone but ourselves, there can be a lot of negative thoughts to unpack. But the brain is resilient! And you can remap yours to be as nice and loving to you as you are to everyone else in your life. And you deserve that kind of inner peace!

Sometimes the best date you can go on is with yourself! Is there a play or concert you've always wanted to go to, but you can never find someone to go with you? Next time, take yourself! It's more than okay to enjoy things on your own! In fact, it's empowering to stand on your own to do thing things that bring you joy. You don't need permission, but in case you feel like you do, here's your permission slip. Go date your sexy self!

When you use l**e for the first time...
L**e is such an easy and effective way to level-up your intimacy! All kinds of things can have an impact on the amount of lubrication naturally available (most of which have nothing to do with arousal), so it's helpful to have a backup plan ready! Or Plan A. There's no wrong time to l**e it up! Though, you should keep in mind that some lubricants are not safe for use with condoms and/or toys. If you're not sure what would be the best fit, your local neighborhood Sexologist (me) is just a message away!

Does the idea of teaching your kids about the birds and the bees make your palms start to sweat? I gotchu!
With the state of s-x education in Texas, we recognize the need for comprehensive and accurate education for ALL ages! Our curriculum covers Kindergarten through adulthood! Each class is taught at an age-appropriate level. My own kids currently range from 1 to young adult, so I have direct experience with every possible level.
Discounts are available if you have multiple kids in different age ranges and want individual classes for them!
What topic are you must anxious about discussing with your kids?
One of the most effective methods for calming your mind is Mindfulness Meditation! Here is a quick guide for how to get started with this life-changing practice. The key is to not be judgmental of yourself. If your mind wanders, gently direct it back. It's a practice, which means it's going to take practice and time to become good at it. And if the instructions are hard to you to grasp, there's an app for that! Let someone who was specifically hired for their soothing voice talk you through it!

Here's a challenge for the new year: write a letter to yourself and make it a LOVE letter!
It's so easy to get focused on the things we don't like about ourselves. And this time of year, the whole world is telling you to become a whole different person. Instead, I think you should acknowledge how awesome you already are. You've made it through every single thing life has thrown at you so far. That is impressive!
So sit down with a piece of paper and write about all the ways you are awesome! If you can't think of anything, write down things other people have said that you chose not to believe at the time. You are worthy of love, from others AND from yourself.
A brand new year is a perfect time to commit to true self-care, self-love, and healthy relationships! You deserve the best in life, but sometimes we're the ones standing in our own way. Let's make 2023 the year that we really show up for ourselves! If the last few years have taught us anything, it's that there's not much we can control beyond ourselves. Now is the time to commit to creating the best life for yourself, inside and out, and I would LOVE to help you get there!

Anyway..
Communication is key. Talk to your partners. Talk to the people you love. Also, listen to what they have to say. Many relationships fail because this is kept out of the equation. And yea as I coach I had to do the same. We sat last night and we talked.. we cussed a little, I rolled my eyes some BUT we talked and what needed to be said was said😂. Everything and anything else that’s trying to block US with constant noise just isn’t important. So what I’m saying is.. focus on your relationship and drown out all of the surrounding noises. You’ll be so much happier in the end ❤️
Also check-ins are important y’all. Set time aside, weekly to talk. And Always date. Don’t forget, spending time together is important!
