Matisse is commonly viewed, along with Picasso and Duchamp, as one of the three artists who helped to define the revolutionary developments in the plastic arts in the first decades of the 20th century, responsible for big developments in painting and sculpture.
Art can be expressed in so many ways, at Lassaulx Art Studio we relish them all. Clemente has been an artist since he was a child, that has let him master oil painting, drawing, sculpting, and engraving. He is eager to transmit his knowledge to the world and therefore has been a successful mentor for those that love art.
Picasso used to say that painting was just another way of keeping a diary.
Vincent van Gogh, one of the most well-known post-impressionist artists; color was the main way of expression. van Gogh was born in Holland on March 30, 1853. He was the son of a pastor, groomed in a religious and cultured home, Vincent had a lot of feelings, lacked self-confidence and struggled with his identity and direction. He believed that his mission in life was to preach the gospel; however, it was from 1860-1880 when he finally decided to become an artist!
Throughout Claude Monet’s long life, which was from 1840 to 1926, he would go from drawing funny cartoons of friends, to capture the distinction of natural panoramas in several perspectives of light and color. Aiming to translate his unique perception of the natural world directly to the canvas, Monet was responsible in shaping a completely new direction for the world of art.
