Otto’s adoption didn’t work out through no fault of his own. It’s really hard when dogs are returned, but we always take our dogs back if something doesn’t work out.

We desperately don’t want Otto to go into boarding, but we have zero open fosters.

Meet Riley! What can we say that captures this unique boy? He is silly, playful and confident. Riley loves fetch (but is not a star athlete)! He also loves trips to Lazy Dog Cafe with burgers on occasion.

Riley is looking for a seasoned family to join that knows what they want from a dog. He has all of his basic training down after attending a board and train program. His trainer said if he didn't have 4 dogs of his own, he would've adopted Riley on the spot.

Riley needs someone that is committed to keeping up his training. His family should match his confidence and discipline for routine. In turn they'll be rewarded with a family member that is unique and loving. This guy bonds for life!

Riley can be placed in a foster or adopters home with other dogs as long as the dog isn’t a fearful dog or overly stimulated dog. He needs a confident, chill, playful dog to interact with. If they are overstimulated they get him stimulated. If they are fearful he wants to protect them

Sweet, adult chocolate lab mix named Bishop here! He’s available for adoption and great with other dogs.

Bishop is in boarding and really needs a foster or adopter. Unfortunately, his foster was dealt a life changing medical diagnosis, and can no longer take care of him.

Bishop would love a home that will let him settle in and know he’s safe after so much change in his day to day. Once he knows he’s safe, this guy will give you lots of kisses and cuddles.

Update: We need your help again! Through no fault of his own Otto is being returned from his adopter. Otto was first so lucky to find what we hoped was his forever home. Their housing circumstances changed, and it was no longer in Otto's best interest to be with the family, so he is coming back. We need to find him new foster and a new adopter.

Talli came to us as a tiny, abandoned pup covered in fleas and mange. She’s grown into a fun, sassy, and adorable young dog—but she’s still waiting for her forever home!

It's National Dog Day and Rusty is doggone shocked he hasn't been adopted yet! This goober is always good for giving you a silly face and cuddles.

Rusty is social, great with other dogs, and has also been formally cat tested.

Rusty was found tied to a tree with barely any shelter in this boiling Texas heat. He's in a foster home now, but deserves a forever home to fall in love with him.

Precious chocolate lab mix Bishop is still looking for a sofa to forever claim as his own. A note from him:

My name is Bishop! I'm about 5 years old and looking for my forever home! My friends say I am loyal, loving, gentle and have a laid back personality. I like being friends with other dogs and have been in a home with up to 5 other dog friends! I want people that want to spend time with me, go on walks and let me ride in the car sometimes. We took a little social media hiatus, but are back just in time to share: Zoey was adopted!

Zoey was originally abandoned on the street a couple of years ago. We helped her find her family, and get adopted. Then, tragically, her family came into a rare medical hardship. They brought Zoey back to us to help find her a second forever family. Zoey waited and waited in boarding.

Our volunteers and the boarding staff doted on her, helped get her stunning photos, gave her love, and sang her praises to anyone we met.

Finally, Zoey's time has come! She is so happy to be with her forever family with a fresh chance at love.

It takes so many people coming together to make the right outcome sometimes. We are so grateful for everyone that played a part in her story.

We love you forever, Zoey girl!

We have good news: Rocco the bulldog was adopted! We are so excited for the adoption momentum we've had this last week!

Next we want to channel this good energy towards Barbie & Chloe! Barb and Chlo are two semi-feral sisters that came to us long ago fearful and unsure of what a loving human touch could be.

Over time, Barbie and Chloe have grown to accept other dogs into their circle, play, and begin to seek human affection! We need someone special to help them continue to progress.

We're looking for a patient foster, or an experienced adopter, that's looking to bring them both into their heart.

We are incredibly happy to announce that Otto has been adopted! He waited over a year in a foster home after being saved from the street.

This sweet boy brought a lot of volunteers together. We are very proud of the growth he showed while in foster and are very excited for his bright future full of love!

Thank you to everyone that was part of his story.

We’re looking for an urgent foster for Rocco! He’s been in boarding and they are without power. Anyone that knows bully breeds knows they are delicate to heat. Rocco additionally has been fighting chronic ear infections too. We really, desperately need somewhere for him to go.

Tuesday post hurricane: just another day in paradise as far as Rusty and Talli are concerned!

Big shout out to all of our fosters and volunteers holding it down through natural disasters. The women we work with always care for our dogs just like they’re their own.

Post storm pleas always increase from the community for us to help strays. We cannot take on more though without more active volunteers on our team.

Miles update: he is home at the boarding facility where he stays! He continued to breathe on his own enough that the vet approved his discharge. He also has his appetite back! Miles will continue to be monitored and has a follow up in two weeks to see how he’s doing.

Miles update: Miles was taken off oxygen support at 5am Sunday. He did good breathing Sunday on his own. He is still not eating though. His liver ALP counts were elevated so we did an ultrasound. Thankfully his liver and gallbladder look great. We will continue to keep you posted.

Our bills are totalling $4,500 at this point and we still have not reached the $1k raised mark.

💙 Make sure your pet is microchipped and the information is updated.
❤️ Ensure your pet's collar is properly fitted and has a current and readable ID tag attached.
💙 Secure all fences and gates. For added safety, es**rt your dog out for potty breaks.
❤️ Create a comfy hideaway for your pet to stay safe during celebrations.

❤️ Speak to your vet about potential calming aids or medications.

We need $4,500 for Miles as he had to be rushed to Vergi after a typical URI turned into a bad case of pneumonia! Rescue community please share and donate!

Miles isn’t out of the woods yet either. He is oxygen dependent, and still not eating. Our bill will grow a minimum of $3k/day until he can breathe on his own.

The staff at Vergi have been angels caring for him! He is resting and as comfortable as can be right now.

Please, please help us raise funds for Miles’ bills. Our rescue has had several surgeries the last couple of months and another big bill like this for Miles is extremely rough on us financially.

These are Otto's numbers over the last YEAR of being with a foster in our rescue. Now he's in boarding after his foster had to make the hard decision to take a break from fostering due to personal circumstances.

Otto is an incredibly smart dog. He is loving. He is obsessed with playing in the water outside. He is cat and dog friendly. He has a great training baseline after working with a trainer. He has so much love to give. He's shy upon first meeting, but once he's comfortable you have a life long best friend.

It is not Otto's fault he is not adopted. It is not Otto's fault he is now in boarding. Help us change his story today (not tomorrow, next month, or next year).

Announcement: ZOEY OFFICIALLY PASSED HER CAT TEST WITH FLYING COLORS 🎉

Zo girl is certified dog, cat, and kiddo friendly!

Zoey is an absolute gem! She is playful and goofy with her toys. Zoey is fully ready to go and has even been through a board and train program!

In her last home, she regularly went to doggy day care to play and socialize. Her family that adopted her after Courtney Lomelo was part of saving her as a puppy ended up with an unexpected medical crisis. They were unable to continue caring for her. Since coming back to us, Zoey has been in boarding just waiting for the chance to be in a home again.

Fun bonus: We've done a Wisdom Panel DNA test on Zoey and she's a mix of so many fun dogs! Adopt her and we'll send you her full results!

Houston, say hello to Herman!

Herman had multiple owners that didn’t set him up for the life he deserved. No heartworm preventative and no neuter for this guy. After a string of owner turnovers, he was found at a park by a Good Samaritan that wanted to help.

Heart full of both love and worms, Herman was taken to the vet. Our volunteer and friend Gina Gomez-de Forrest was one of the first faces he saw inside! Gina and the vet both knew he was special.

After 2 weeks of staying at the clinic he is finally in a foster home! We cannot wait to see his happy ending!

Shoutout to Sarah Ibison, Houston PetSet, Veterinary Urgent Care and the whole staff there, and everyone else that’s donated and loved on him already.
