👏 Congratulations to UHCL alumna, Elizabeth Condic, '94 BS, '97 MS, who will become Interim Executive Director and CEO at the Houston Symphony in October. 🎼

Condic joined the Houston Symphony as CFO in 2017, overseeing finance, human resources, and information technology. Prior to the Houston Symphony, Condic, a Houston native, was vice president for finance and CFO at the University of St. Thomas and the University of Mary.

"My learning experiences at UHCL have been very valuable to me in my career and I hope that current students can get as much out of their time there as I did," said Condic.

🤝And we love to hear about Hawks Hiring Hawks - Goff was assisted in the hiring process by Human Resources Director at The Rose, Juana Rodriguez, ’18 BS.

💚 Hawks 4 Community, in partnership with Facilities Management and Construction (FMC) and the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, is coordinating a campus-wide clean-up in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.

💙 We are calling on volunteers to help pick up trash, small debris, and other items to keep our campus beautiful.

🍃A light grab and go breakfast will be provided!
🍃Volunteers are asked to wear light long-sleeves, apply bug/wasp spray, close toed shoes, sunscreen and a hat.
🍃Volunteers SHOULD NOT bring their personal lawn care items (mowers, saws, etc.).

Although UH-Clear Lake did not offer a media studies program at the time, Mary Sue Anton, '89 BA, had a passion for writing and genealogy that led her to the school newspaper. Here, Anton first honed her skills in writing, editing, publishing, and interviewing – key steps on her path to becoming a successful published author. ✒️

To date, she has published four books, the most recent being “Leaving the Homeplace: Tales Beyond the Levee,” in February 2024. This memoir recounts her beginnings as a Missouri native and spans her experiences through the Great Depression, World War II, the 60s, and the space age.
