23 years later, we continue to honor the memory of those who perished due to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
This morning, members of the UH community paid their respects at the World Trade Center Memorial on campus. The steel beam from ground zero, now permanently housed on campus, serves as a reminder of the 2,997 lives lost and the unshakable resilience that emerged in the aftermath.
UH’s new, 41,000 sq. foot dining space is open for business! 🎉🍴
The RAD Center (short for Retail, Auxiliary and Dining Center) is built on the grounds of the former Student Center Satellite building. It’s a two-story building that features 400 guest seats, including outdoor patio seating on both floors, where you can enjoy views of the beautiful greenery on campus while you dine.
Inside, visitors will find several new dining options, including Absurd Bird (chicken tenders), Paper Lantern (Asian grill), The Burger Joint (hand-crafted burgers), The Nook Café (coffee, pastries and more) and The Taco Stand (authentic tacos, burritos and more).
Constructed using large, multilayered solid wood panels, the sustainable building brings life safety, wellness and sustainability benefits.
