Our Story from the Frontlines to the Hunting Blinds

In 2012, Banded Brigade Outdoors was conceptualized when Brad Davis of Brad’s Brigade connected with Scott Bornman and other like-minded servant leaders from Houston-based Texas Outdoors for Wounded Veterans. Together, they founded the 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that shares a matched passion for the outdoors and supporting America's military personnel across our country. The group’s mission is to provide a safe place where veterans and active-duty servicemen and servicewomen may find personal freedom and re-integration by reconnecting with God’s greatest gifts — nature and one another. With the generous assistance and donations from corporate sponsors and community partners, Banded Brigade Outdoors has been able to walk alongside these brave men and women on their individual roads to recovery. It is they who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice by committing their lives to ensuring civilians can live peacefully and freely in our homeland.

Banded Brigade Outdoors annually holds three to four major events to further support its mission to provide a safe place where active-duty servicemen, servicewomen and veterans may find personal freedom and re-integration by reconnecting with nature and one another. These flagship hunting expeditions and activities afford veterans and active-duty military personnel the opportunity to completely immerse themselves in the outdoors with little to no civilian interaction. From start to finish, Banded Brigade Outdoors schedules and manages the events to ensure a positive life experience for participants where they can safely let their guards down while feeling camaraderie among their fellow military sisters and brothers. Donations from corporate and private sponsors support these annual activities, whether providing travel money for tracking javelina and white-tailed deer or feeding veterans delicious prime rib at an annual summer barbeque cook-off. At the end of the day, it’s about everyone coming together to make these successful events possible.
