Thank you Houston CCS ALLIANCE, sponsor of the October 2023 UH STEM Zone Saturday program. We had AMAZING collaborators such as Chevron, Space Center Houston, and Baseload Capital. Students interacted with professionals from these companies learning more about their STEM careers and the importance of carbon capture both on Earth and in space. Students also conducted carbon capture activities too!

Interested in SPACE? With the onset of the Artemis Generation mankind is looking to further investigate the Moon to eventually reach beyond planet Mars.

3rd-8th grade students are invited July 17-21st to unlock new opportunities this summer at the Mars Rover Explorers Camp! Participants will investigate about the Red Planet, engineer a rover that can traverse the rocky terrain of Mars, design a space suit, meet a NASA VIP, engage in team building activities and conduct a Mars Expedition at the Houston Museum of Natural Science!

Rising 6th-9th grade students will explore a variety of STEAM topics and enriching activities geared towards individual growth and team learning, all while building essential life skills. Participants will engage in modules such as Comm Check! where they embark on several missions focused on the art and science of communication; Digital Worlds that prepares them to decipher the 1’s and 0’s of cyberspace, cyberbullying and cyber war; Mindset Mastery that explores how life experiences sets the pathway to endless possibilities; Lights, Camera, Lift-Off which captures the participant’s story using professional editing skill sets; What Bugs You? Initiates how to creatively solve problems; and Launch Day that serves as a fun-filled capstone.

It's not to late! Learn how to code and at the Leaders program hosted by the University of Houston. The LEADERS program is supported by Cougar Initiative To Engage (CITE), Provost’s Office at the University of Houston. The program consists of three weeks of Saturday “workshop labs” in April consisting of learning, teaching, and mentoring sessions in the spring semester with faculty industry experts to supervise and instruct students. The first date is April 1, April 8, and ends on April 15th.

The LEADERS project involves the following Domains: Digital Storytelling, Coding, and Game Development. UH students will teach and mentor students in grades 3-8 and serve the larger UH community.
