We are an elective campus for Spring Branch ISD high school students in Houston, Texas.
Our technical, project-based, interactive classes emulate a work environment to prepare students as they transition to higher education or their chosen career.

Congratulations NJROTC Cadet Neftally Valencia for receiving a US Navy ROTC scholarship. Neftally is the fifth Guthrie cadet to earn a $200K award in as many years from the US Navy. We are very proud of his determination, focus, humility, and being a positive role model for his cadet peers.
Guthrie students are at the SkillsUSA state conference competing in several events this weekend. Cos 1 student Seaniez Tidball was in the first Natural Hair Design and Weaving Category, while Film students Joaquin Veintimilla & Xavier Alexander got ready to view film projects.
At the BOT meeting on Monday, all of the Character Without Question nominees were honored from all SBISD campuses. Internship student and NTHS Vice-President Tatum Marye is representing Guthrie for this school year. Congratulations Tatum!
Culinary students were once again invited to help prep for the Barbecue Cookoff at the HLSR. Our team prepared all of the sides (loaded potatoes, cole slaw, beans, brownies, cookies) made cakes, and helped prep some amazing briskets for their sponsor, Good Time Cookers.
Our Health Science Clinical students started their hospital rotations at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital this week. It was an exciting first day to witness future opportunities for a career in the health profession. Thanks to our great partner
Congratulations to our Cosmetology team for placing first at the SkillsUSA District 8 contest. Students earned the highest possible scores in hairstyling, nails, and salon exhibits, and have qualified to advance to State.
Congratulations to all of our FFA students participating in the 46th Annual Show and Sale. The judging is over, and the auction starts today at 1:00 PM at 1905 Brittmoore.
Meanwhile, in another part of Houston, Chef Training students created Creamy Potato Soup with Spanish Chorizo for the Soup-er Bowl contest sponsored by the West Houston Rotary.
Guthrie SkillsUSA Culinary Team is competing in their district competitions today. Students compete in Restaurant Service, Baking and Pastry, Showpiece, Tiered Cakes, and Employability Skills. Go Team Guthrie!

This is the biggest week of the year for our Ag Science/FFA program. The 46th Annual FFA Show and Sale is the culmination of students raising projects as they are judged during Thursday and Friday shows and auctioned off on Saturday at the sale. All of the events are open to the public at 1905 Brittmoore.
Welcome to the 62 new members of Guthrie's National Technical Honor Society. Last night they were inducted into our very active chapter. After the ceremony, families and students were able to enjoy cookies and punch provided by our Culinary Arts students.

Pass In Review 2024 Spring Branch Guthrie Center NJROTC Unit
Each platoon conducts a marching drill which will be followed by Unarmed and Armed Drill Teams, Color Guard, and will finish with Pass in Review.

EVENT DATE CHANGE! Guthrie's Open House which is scheduled for Tuesday 1/16/24 is being moved to Thursday 1/18/24 due to extremely cold temperatures expected on Tuesday evening. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will join us on Thursday from 5 to 7 PM.
Please join us at our Community Tuesday Open House on January 16 from 5-7 PM. This is an ideal opportunity to find or learn more about high school electives that can make a positive difference in your school day.
Great lesson today in Livestock Production about using an ultrasound to determine if lambs and goats will be birthing anytime soon. Mr. McManners reviewed what they were looking for before going out to the pasture then had students in small groups assist with the prep and scanning of the livestock. Mrs Corona's Advanced Animal Science also joined in.
