“... spellbinding ...” -BERKSHIRE EAGLE
“... one of the most remarkable pieces of theater in recent memory. Brilliant would be the word.” -TIMES UNION
“... not just during the performance, but long after, Tomorrow in the Battle is a play to revel in.” -METROLAND
A riveting mystery of obsession and betrayal . . .
“Tomorrow in the Battle” finds Simon, a heart surgeon, in a heated affair with Jennifer who is a successful a young investor that he met at an opera. Though oblivious to her husband's betrayal, Simon's wife Anna has contrived a romantic seduction of her own.
Simon, Jennifer and Anna are also facing professional dilemmas which mirror their personal crises. Simon prepares to perform a transplant on the heart of a young boy even as he takes an increasingly devil-may-care approach to his work. Anna, a civil servant at the Ministry of Defense, is coaxed into giving false evidence to Parliament to conceal an error in the program to renew the country's nuclear weapons system. Meanwhile, a trip to the New York Stock Exchange reveals to Jennifer that deception is not limited to the domains of the heart.
With their secrets deepening in risk and intensity, the past and present intertwine, thrusting them toward a desperate moment that changes their lives forever. Immediate, exquisite and often humorous, “Tomorrow in the Battle” is a sensual yet terrifying exposure of contemporary mores.
Funded, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts, the Shubert Foundation, the Ernest O. Reaugh Trust Fund, Columbia County Tourism and Richard and Carol Seltzer.

metroland.net 1. Stockholm Stageworks/Hudson Having its American premiere at Stageworks/Hudson, Stockholm was riveting. The play was a dash of Mamet, a pinch of Ruhl, a sweating of Pinter, a snap of LaBute, sprinklings of Albee, a zest of de Sade

Two more thrilling reviews for Stageworks’ production
of STOCKHOLM by Bryony Lavery!
“This production of “Stockholm” is . . . exciting, bold, beautiful and erotic . . . it should not be missed . . . Bryony Lavery has written a dense, threatening and beautiful piece of theater. . . a magnificent theatrical experience.” Bob Goephert, WAMC Northeast Public Radio

“Lavery’s stunning script is fittingly (and ironically) non-linear, weaving spoken word, choreography, sound, and visual effects in a way that transmits Todd and Kali’s imprisonment like a punch in the gut and wends its way into the observer’s psyche . . . I urge you to visit Stageworks before “Stockholm” closes on September 1.” -Roseann Cane, Berkshire On Stage

Stageworks' first review of Bryony Lavery's brilliant play, STOCKHOLM is terrific. This is a must-see!
“In a run too short, it is a matter of urgency that theater-goers take advantage of this American debut and see it while it is possible . . . a remarkable evening of theater.”

“"We had so much fun on character safari alongside [Colleen] Zenk as she exposed the triumphs and flaws of Ms. Bankhead's that I was very pleasantly surprised that by the time we were all standing and applauding, I had not only learned more about Tallulah, but also about human nature in general and even about myself. It is a gift that I will treasure for years to come."
-Kevin Mulcahy Jr., We Love Soaps
"[Collen Zenk] brings Talullah Bankhead to life. Her creation is a deft mix of comedy and tragedy, bringing the dysfunctional alcoholic to a level of hilarity and sympathy for an enthusiastic audience on the edge of their seats . . ."
-John Paul Keeler, Register Star
