CPR believes healthy relationships are mutually encouraging, uplifting, and beneficial. Healthy relationships are characterized by the following –
• Respectful speech to and about others
• Care and consideration for the needs of others
• Healthy conflict resolution
CPR works to demonstrate these values and to cultivate them in others. Currently, CPR's program is used in 30 central Indiana school districts and by 28 Associates throughout 5 U.S.

On October 4th, a national alert will be sent out to test the alert system around 2:20 pm ET. If you have a hidden phone, like many in a domestic violence situation might, make sure your phone is off. From my understanding, even if it’s the next day when you turn it on, it will still go off, so make sure you are in a safe situation when you turn it back on. I sincerely hope this heads up reaches the ones who need it the most.

When is the last time you heard of a student having the "best week" at school learning about something?

Check out what this Muncie school teacher had to say about our program, "Building Healthy Relationships," that was taught by one of our associate organizations, First Choice for Women.

⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

"My health students just had the best week of class after inviting Mrs. Bethany to share a presentation of Building Healthy Relationships. At the risk of sounding old-fashioned, I acknowledge that our 'Youtube generation' of young learners are exposed to much more than I was when I was their age. Although this is undoubtedly true, I made the mistake of assuming that young people had more knowledge of 'that stuff' than they actually do.

My students appreciated Bethany's firm, clear, and honest delivery of the information and were inquisitive, responsive, and transparent in return.

I sometimes feel anxious having guests in my class because I worry how the speaker/message will be received or treated. Furthermore, I'll honestly admit that I used to feel that I could deliver any learning objective better than someone that doesn't work with my students everyday. I was undeniably wrong.

My students and I wanted to take a moment to thank First Choice for Women, MCS, and especially Bethany for this awesome program, for I believe it has been an invaluable resource for our young health learners."

Why is it important to give people the tools to have healthy relationships?

06/24/2020

Some components of a healthy relationship, like character and communication, involve thinking about what we want and being intentional to work toward that goal. Some involve the heart, like chemistry, meaning it involves emotions. Both the mind and the heart are used to determine compatibility and commitment. Therefore, both the mind and the heart are essential in a healthy relationship.

>Cat and Dog- Explosive; often says things they may not mean.
>Bury It and Forget It- Rarely says what they think or feel; goes with the flow.
>Orderly and Rationally- Listens to what the other person is saying; uses "I" statements when they're upset.
Knowing what kind of arguer you are can help you be more aware next time you find yourself in a disagreement. Regardless of which kind you are today, you can always learn ways to address conflict in a positive, healthy way!
