We have altered our plans for the annual Greening of the Canal event. Due to anticipated rain in the forecast, the celebration will now take place at 11 a.m. EDT, on Thursday, March 16. In addition, as a result of a mechanical issue with the pump that operates the fountain in the Downtown Indy Canal, the Canal will not turn green with the fountain as it has in the past. However, a ceremonial pouring of the dye will still take place to celebrate the start of St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Indianapolis. We encourage you to please join us in-person or via our event livestream for The Hoosier Lottery St. Patrick’s Day Kickoff Celebration!

The Indy Public Safety Foundation Tent Party is on North Street in the American Legion Mall (btw Meridian and Penn downtown) and it is also near the location of the Parade start on Thursday, March 17th from 9:30am to 3:00pm. It is a FREE all ages event and open to the public. There will be live entertainment starting at 10:00am featuring Eamon Hegarty and Friends followed by Indianapolis Ceili Band at 12:15pm both performing on the Hoosier Lottery Imagine That Stage. Beer garden opens at 9:30am with Guinness, Bud Light, Green Beer, Bud and Centerpoint. Food by The New York Slice, Books Bourbon & Bacon and J & K Sweet Shop. The 2022 Irish Citizen of the Year and Grand Marshal Jane Coffey Elliott will be honored from the stage a little after 1:00pm.
