Last week, IHA successfully hosted its milestone 50th annual Administrative Professionals Conference. The annual event is a tribute to the remarkable administrative professionals who play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our health organizations.

Among the attendees, Kelsey Castillo from IU Health Ball, Blackford & Jay (Jay) stood out and was honored with the Administrative Professional Excellence Award for her outstanding contributions. She was praised for her unwavering commitment and dedication to the hospital, exemplifying the core principles of teamwork, purpose, excellence, and organization. Congrats, Kelsey!

The IHA recently held its annual Patient Safety Summit, bringing together leaders in patient safety and quality to discuss effective strategies and share best practices for improving patient safety throughout the state. A coping toolbox is a collection of skills, techniques, items, and other suggestions that you can turn to as soon as you start to feel anxious or distressed. No one thing works for everyone. If you're starting from scratch, here are some ideas for addressing your basic needs:

• Eat a healthy snack.
• Drink a glass of water.
• Take a shower or bath.
• Take a nap.
• Brush your teeth.

Coping toolbox = self-care. Make a list of solutions & your strengths. Talk directly to someone who upset you, fill in the blanks: "I feel _____ when (this happens) because _____. Next time, could you please ____?" 💚
