On this solemn day, we pause to remember the events of 9/11 and honor the courage of those who sacrificed everything and also their families who were left behind.
Every year we take the time to ensure their bravery and sacrifice are never forgotten.
Airmen from the 181st Intelligence Wing, ran in the 9/11 Memorial 5K Run at Hulman Field in Terre Haute a few day ago. This is just one way we pay tribute to the first responders and all the lives lost 23 years ago today.

Our gracious Slovak counterparts invited Hoosier Guardsmen to represent our state and nation in their parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising. This Slovak national holiday not only honors the sacrifices made by the people of Slovakia but also highlights the enduring partnership between the U.S. and Slovak military, which began in World War II and continues to thrive today.
| Last week, Indiana was honored to lay a wreath in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising. This significant moment not only honors the sacrifices made by the people of Slovakia but also highlights the enduring partnership between the U.S. and Slovak military, which began in World War II and continues to thrive today. Throughout our visit, Maj. Gen. Dale Lyles and Gov. Holcomb met with distinguished members of the Slovak Republic, including General Daniel Zmeko and Maj. Gen. Robert Toth. Our commitment to this state partnership is a testament to the strength we share together.
Guardsmen with the 938th Military Police Detachment are locked and loaded, conducting preliminary marksmanship instruction and weapons qualification on the mighty M2 .50 caliber machine gun at Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, Indiana. 💥
Our National Guard soldiers dedicate one weekend a month to serve and sharpen their skills, and they elevate their warrior tasks and drills during these extended annual training periods.

During their annual training, Guardsmen within the 939th Military Police Company completed the Tactical Combat Care Course, Tier 1. This intensive 8-hour course refreshed their vital field first-aid skills, ensuring they’re always prepared to handle emergencies with expertise and confidence.

🏈 Touchdown at Colts Training Camp! 🏈
The Indianapolis Colts kicked off their football training camp with an incredible turnout of dedicated fans and local heroes! Military service members were out in full force, interacting with the players and fans, showcasing their unwavering support and community spirit. 🇺🇸💪
Hoosiers showed up to cheer on their favorite team and engage with service members. The camaraderie, excitement and pride made it a day to remember for everyone involved!

Meet Brian Ramirez, a 22-year-old Indianapolis native who joined the Indiana National Guard for structure and higher education opportunities. Working as an Amazon delivery driver with logistics experience, Brian aims to become a unit supply specialist.
To enlist, he took the ASVAB improvement course provided by the Indiana National Guard, a new resource available for incoming recruits.
“The classroom environment helped me get the points I needed to pass,” Brian said. Brian leaves for basic training in September, excited for new opportunities.

The 38th Infantry Division Band recently completed their annual training and brought joy to communities across Indiana with their concerts! Their tour showcased their dedication and talent while celebrating our community and honoring our service members through incredible music and patriotism.

This new poster, inspired by 1980s and 1990s cowboy art, celebrates the 152nd Cavalry Regiment's 'wild west' spirit and their enduring motto, 'Fit to Fight.' Drawing on a 'less is more' design approach, it captures the regiment's storied history from its Civil War roots to modern-day valor.
Their lineage includes service in the Spanish-American War, Mexican Border, World Wars, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, reflecting a legacy of bravery and resilience.
During the Cyber Shield exercise at the Virginia National Guard State Military Reservation, Brig. Gen. Michael Grundman awarded Staff Sgt. Jeremy McKee of the 137th Signal Company a coin in recognition of his outstanding efforts.
