On May 22, 2024, leaders from the City of Indianapolis Office of Public Health and Safety and the Indy Public Safety Foundation traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in a special convening hosted by the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
This event brought together National Offices of Violence Prevention Network members to focus on community violence intervention and establish an ecosystem of Offices of Violence Prevention to enhance public safety nationwide.

Ever wondered what it's like to be on patrol with ? Our very own recently got a firsthand look. This initiative encourages stronger connections between our domestic violence prevention program and the officers who keep our city safe. By riding alongside IMPD officers, our Champions gain valuable insight and help build bridges of understanding and collaboration to the deadliest calls that IMPD receives.
The Indy Champions program is crucial to streamlining services to domestic violence victims and survivors, and ride-along allows us to see public safety from different perspectivesβfostering a more positive and productive relationship between the community and the police.
We're gearing up for Indy Peace Fellowship graduation next month, and we wanted to take a moment to thank one of our faves, Fred Miller. His amazing storytelling skills and equally amazing team do a fantastic job of highlighting the graduates each year. This year is no exception; the class of 2023 is truly incredible--including the first woman to graduate from the program. π§‘βοΈ
