Epworth United Methodist Church

We have a simple message every week - God loves you; Jesus came to prove it; and how we choose to live our faith matters - now and always.

Join us as we live out our faith by Loving, Growing, and Serving. WHO WE ARE

Here’s the deal, Epworth cares about one thing more than anything else, the love of God as expressed through Jesus Christ. Epworth is a family of individuals that have experienced that love and believe that it should make a difference in our everyday lives. We want to help as many people as possible to experience that lo

Ever present God, good morning.
It is a privilege to come to you this day with all that is on our hearts: bodies and relationships which need healing, hard decisions which need to be made, new directions which need to be taken.
What we know to be true Lord, is this: you've been with us through the hard stuff and the joyous moments. You've been with us before we even knew we needed you. And you'll be with us when each storm passes.
So we really have no response today Lord except that of gratitude for your faithfulness. May it bring us comfort enough to rest when we need it. May it bring us courage enough when we are called to show up and care. May it bring us hope when we see your presence in the good works and graces of all your people.
And may we be as present, and as reliable and as steadfast with those on our path as you are with us.
In the name of the one who was and is your greatest example of faithfulness, Amen.

Beginning this week - Pastor will walk us through the New Testament. Join us this Tuesday or anytime during our study.

God of peace, good morning.
We come to you a grateful people Lord...grateful that today we can be all about soaking up your presence...a presence which is full of peace that passes all understanding.
Help us grasp that Lord; we don't have to understand this gift, we need only to embrace it, claim it, and then give it away.
This week, may our words be calm and full of hope to a world that is anxious and afraid. May our response to both those whom we love and our strangers be without judgement or resentment but rather with compassion and acceptance.
May our time alone with you be void of worry, or wish lists, or second guesses and instead be filled with stillness, and quiet, deep inhalations of your Holy Spirit....that same Spirit who prays for us when we haven't the words.
Your peace, which indeed flows like a rive, if we don't obstruct it, is our hope this week God.
In the name of the One whose final gift to us was that of peace, Amen.

Do you feel stuck as a parent? When your child asks you questions about God, faith, or other tough topics do you feel like you're coming up empty? You're not alone and here at Epworth we want you to know that it's okay to be struggling as a parent. However, we also want to give you an opportunity to grow and learn long with other parents and our faith community. Join Pastor Chris & Lynn and Danny Baize as we explore "Getting It Right w/Parenting", a six week series starting this September. For more information email Pastor Chris at [email protected]

God of lovingkindness, good morning.
Hear our prayers this day Lord...prayers for the healing of those whom we love, for guidance with choices that are ours to make, for grace when we failed to walk as closely with you as we could have.
In the week ahead God, when we have decisions to make, may your son's example always be our guide:
When we encounter someone in need, may we be like Jesus and see them as neighbor-worthy.
When we witness injustice, may we be like Jesus and be the voice of the voiceless.
When we get overwhelmed by the world, may we be like Jesus and take time to be with you and you alone.
When we are falsely accused or treated harshly, may we be like Jesus and respond with prayer and not with malice.
And when we are given the opportunity to witness to your love and grace, may we be like Jesus and do so boldly and with the confidence that you are never not with us.
In the name of the one who gave us the ultimate template for faith, Amen.
