Who doesn’t love a quick and easy summer snack?! 🌞🍫 Our cooking group whipped up some scrumptious Smores Parfaits this week, and they were an absolute hit! 😋🔥
We couldn't resist sharing the deliciousness, so here’s the recipe for you to enjoy! 🙂

Ingredients
• 1 box chocolate pudding
• 2 cups milk
• 2 cups crushed graham crackers
• 1 jar marshmallow cream
• 1.5 cups mini marshmallows
• 1 chocolate candy bar for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare chocolate pudding according to package directions.
2. Layer the ingredients in a glass, starting with graham crackers, next pudding, followed by marshmallow cream.
3. Repeat one more time only leave out the marshmallow cream and top pudding with mini marshmallows.
4. Garnish with 2 pieces of chocolate bar.
Makes 8 servings 🙂

We're delighted the weather cleared up, allowing us to host a fantastic Fourth of July BBQ over lunch! Residents enjoyed sitting outside and sharing a meal together. A big thank you to our director, Jeremy, for expertly manning the grill. Yesterday, residents had a great time shucking sweet corn for today's meal—a wonderful Iowa tradition! We savored the best watermelon and topped off our celebration with bomb pops for everyone! ❤️🤍💙

What a beautiful day to get outside and do some gardening! ☺️ 🪴 💚

🦋✨ Today was a day of joy and heartfelt goodbyes at our community as we released 5 butterflies that we've lovingly raised from caterpillars. The journey from tiny larvae to beautiful winged creatures has been an incredible experience for our residents, full of excitement and wonder.

Nurturing these delicate beings has provided a sense of purpose and brought a spark of nature's magic into their daily lives. The process of transformation from caterpillar to butterfly has been a beautiful symbol of growth and renewal, resonating deeply with everyone involved.

Releasing the butterflies was a bittersweet moment, one that we will all cherish. We've seen firsthand the therapeutic benefits of this activity, from the calming effect it has had to the conversations and memories it has sparked. It has been much more than just fun; it has been a source of healing and connection.

We will miss our fluttering friends, but we take comfort in the knowledge that we've given them the best start in life. 🌼🦋

The King of Rock 'n' Roll made a thrilling return to our town today! It's always a joy to immerse ourselves in the iconic tunes of Elvis. We time-traveled back to the fabulous '50s for an unforgettable performance. The excitement was infectious among both residents and community members as we welcomed our beloved Elvis impersonator back for another fantastic show this year! 🎶🎸🎙️ 👑 🩵

We enjoyed a fiesta with friends!

It was a lively day at Vintage Hills! Our morning started with some energizing target golf practice. In the afternoon, we had the pleasure of a visit from Suncrest Home Health & Hospice - Iowa for their Paws and Punch event, allowing our residents to interact with friendly therapy dogs. Following that, we held a milkshake social at our community with our care partners and enjoyed the opportunity to mix and mingle! As is tradition, we ended the evening with our popular Monday Bakery Bingo. At Vintage Hills, we strive to offer a vibrant schedule of activities to enrich our residents' lives daily.
We appreciate Suncrest taking the time to visit with their delightful canine companions. ⛳️🐾🍹
