CSD's future home is reaching new heights despite January's extreme snowfall and sub-zero temps. During that wintry stretch, trucks removed from the site 56 loads of snow! Despite below-zero cold and snowy January setbacks, construction continues, while CSD'ers build excitement for their new facility.

My husband, Royce, is the baritone soloist! It's a free concert this Wednesday.

This Wednesday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m., the Chamber Singers of Iowa City and the University of Iowa School of Music Choruses and Orchestra will combine to perform Benjamin Britten's "War Requiem" at Hancher Auditorium! This event is free and open to the public.

I'm moderating a panel of research presentations on gender affirming voice for speech and singing, doing a talk "Applying Culturally Responsive Practice to Clinical Voice Evaluations and Therapy," and doing a ToolTalk about the manual Here's How to Teach Voice and Communication to Transgender Women. Looking forward to talking about voice and communication at the Midwest LGBTQ Health and Wellness Conference presented by One Iowa and Unity Point Health. My break out session is 1:30 Tuesday, September 26th. Come ready for hands on practice while learning about voice gender markers, how to change these markers, and how voice therapy or training works.

It's only August and I'm already excited for my first ASHA Convention in November! Thank you to all my great co-presenters and collaborators from the University of Iowa and St. Ambrose University.

We're celebrating World Voice Day in CSD at Iowa!

Congrats to clinical profs Karen Bryant and Louise Pinkerton, who won a grant from the Parkinson Voice Project! The monetary award supports training for clinicians and grad students (like Sam and Kate) to treat clients with voice disorders associated with the disease as well as equipment for teletherapy.
